Fine. I admit it. I DO want the 1990s Cynado logo to come back.

That masterful piece of logo design has been sneakily appearing around Ames lately. Rocco wears a hat with that logo and you can see it elsewhere. With Campbell also occasionally wearing vintage logos, I think the time is ripe. Why wouldn't we want to remember the good old days? Coach Mac? Fizer? That great game against Nebraska in 1997.

Yes, it is time to bring back the Cynado logo.

Ah, but to be clear, it's still awful. But for the kids these days, it's so awful it's good. No different than some retro logos for the other schools. See: UCF's Citronaut, UCONN's depressed/confused husky, etc. You know you want it. Admit it.

I only mean to bring it back in the context of having a retro helmet once in a while. I'm still surprised ISU hasn't done such a simple thing. It's literally a sticker change. Rotate between the Cynado, walking Cy, and throw in some 1970s and 1980s logos too. Maybe one or two games a year.

To go with this idea, every sport needs a retro game. Football should have 9 "normal" games, a Jack Trice game, a retro game, and a blackout game.

With some of your comments ... no. No modifications. Give me 100% garish or give me death.

If the Big 12 is going to be the fun cocaine conference, they should lean into this. Why not have a national primetime basketball game that is aired with retro 1970s graphics, the team wears 1970s uniform logos and, yes, even TJ comes out wearing plaid bell bottom pants and a huge collar shirt unbuttoned down to the navel and an afro wig.

Just picture it.

The I-State logo is the second longest we've gone with the same logo in our history. The "AMES" logo lasted 20 years. (https://1000logos.net/iowa-state-cyclones-logo/)

We've had I-State for 15 years. I say: forget throwbacks - it's time for a whole new branding and re-design of the logo!!
I don't think you do. We've become relevant with this logo and how people see us now is with this logo. That's not to say you can't use the other logos, but use them. Schools from all over the country use their throwback logos and such. However, I do believe we need a true secondary logo, like the bugle was supposed to be (and they royally ****** that one up). Get that logo right and use it as much as you'd like.
