I'm not blaming Melvin for the play because in the heat of the battle anything can happen and usually does, Melvin should have just called TIME OUT when the pokes pressed him.

Or one of our two outlet guys who were standing there watching him get mauled, hindsight is 20/20.

This game was a giant shot to the gonads, you just had this feeling we couldn't peel away.

Rewatch the play. The other defender (not forte) slapped Melvins left arm. Clear foul. I'm sure it was the asshat John Higgins down there that didn't call it.

Cyclonefan710, even though you've probably already been banned, I just wanted to chime in with my two cents here.

You are a ******* idiot.

It almost looked like he thought there had been a whistle and it was a dead ball.

These are the plays that make Melvin so frustrating. His intelligence is in the classroom, not on the court. He makes one or two boneheaded plays a game. I thought he cost us the game two seasons ago in Stillwater. Last night's turnover/foul was the turning point in the game. This loss wasn't his fault, but if we retain possession there, OSU might have had to force some offense late.

My guess is, even though he had guys open, there were two guys on him and he isn't exactly the most athletic guy.

Should he have called timeout? Yes.

Is that play the reason we lost this game? Or the refs calls? Or Hoibergs timeouts? Or Clyburn letting guys cut right to the hoop without challenging them? Or Okie State nailing that halfcourt buzzer beater?

I really don't think any single topic cost us the game.

I do, however, think we beat ourselves, and not the other way around.
Any one play of the above is all it took.

Melvin had Smart on him, so I don't blame him for bringing the ball away. I don't think he saw the hobbit until his arms were being torn off.
Let's start some controversy - should Fred have called a TO when ME had the rebound? Obviously OSU was in the gambling mode.

The turnover was ridiculous. He should have gotten rid of the ball immediately, but the foul was bs. He didn't even touch Forte. Forte won an academy award for that flop and got rewarded for it.

It's because he's 4'-10" tall. Unless you lay on your belly when's he coming at you, you've gonna get called for the foul. :twitcy:

So you think he didn't get fouled? I'm still mad that there wasn't a foul called. I don't care if he actually got hit or not to be honest. How freaking often do you ever see someone at the complete other end of the court slap at the ball and reach-in, and then NOT get called for a foul?? I don't know if I've ever seen a ref allow that to happen, that's pretty much their "go-to" call is to call any type of reach-in like that when someone has secured possession.

I think he's a good player but what was going through his head when he got that defensive rebound when we were up 4? He held onto to the ball for like 5 seconds without even attempting to outlet the ball and then let's forte rip it out of his hands. Then to top it off he makes a boneheaded foul when forte has no chance of scoring over him. It changed momentum and pretty much lost us the game. He's one of my favorite Iowa state players but I hate him tonight

"Tonight he really disappointed me"
Would have been appropiate. Your choice of words is a bit crazy.
