That sucks, he was my favorite Ghostbuster. I actually just watched Stripes the other day too ironically enough.

I'll also remember him as Russell Ziskey in Stripes:

John Winger: C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like going into Wisconsin.

Russell Ziskey: Well I got the **** kicked out of me in Wisconsin once. Forget it!

Bummer! Guy was hilarious. Guess that officially ends the hopes for a new ghostbusters.

Bonus points to anyone who can say how Harold Ramis is related to my avatar pic.

He was Zeke (right side of your avatar) in Heavy Metal.

I watched that movie when it came out in Wisconsin, the place went nuts when they said that.

Watched that in Wisconsin, the place went nuts with that line.

Damn sad. The guy co-wrote Caddyshack and Animal House too. Brilliantly funny.

Also, he was part of the writing team that gave us this:

Egon: Vigo the Carpathian. Born 1505, died 1610.

Peter Venkman: 105 years old, he hung in there, didn't he?
Ray: He didn't die of old age, either. He was poisoned, stabbed, shot, hung, stretched, disembowled, drawn and quartered.

Peter Venkman: Ouch.

Winston: Guess he wasn't too popular at the end, huh?

Egon: No, not exactly a man of the people. Also known as Vigo the Cruel, Vigo the Torturer, Vigo the Despised, and Vigo the Unholy.

Peter Venkman: Wasn't he also Vigo the Butch?

Ray: And dig this, there was a prophecy. Just before his head died, his last words were "Death is but a door. Time is but a window. I'll be back."

No mentions of Groundhog Day yet? Ramis co-wrote it and directed it too.

This is a sad day. He is one of my favorite talents ever.
