I think I said earlier in this thread that I felt good enough about Pierce's ball handling ability to be able to be a PG, or at least share PG duties. I just wasn't sure about his passing, based on the highlights that are available which don't have many assists. I think the tweet shared earlier eases some of those concerns. Sure, it's a single game, but players don't just accidentally get 13 assists in a game.
Also, I found a full game from this weekend that I watched a few minutes of. The link below starts at a stretch where he has 2 rebounds and three assists on three straight offensive possessions.

There's been a lot of discussion around whether he's really able to be a primary PG in the sense that Kane and Smart were, or if he's more like a secondary playmaker in the way that Holmes is and THT and Burton were. Frankly, now I see better what it sounds like the staff sees and feel like he can be the former.
