I'm not sold on this. My problem is that this role has already been nailed by Heath Ledger. As much as I want to like this, it just won't live up to that performance. Then again, I just don't see any of the latest Batman movies working after Nolan's trilogy.

It was also nailed by Nicholson. And Hamill. Interpretations on a character can be different yet still really great.

<<Non-spoiler Review>> So, I finished up Black Lightning S2 last night and kind of like S1, I was just kind of like meh. I still love the actor who plays Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning and I do really dig the Tobias Whale villain character, no matter how over-the-top cheesey they go with him. However, the series just doesn't have much past that. The writing for both seasons is fairly formulaic and terrible, and some of the supporting cast is borderline unwatchable, particularly the Thunder character. I haven't even mentioned that I still can't stand ANY of the costumes for any of the superheroes on this show as they are easily the cheesiest ones on all of TV. As for comparing this season to season 1, while both aren't particularly good, I'll have to go with Season 1 being better, mainly because it ended better. I thought Season 2 really ended super abruptly and didn't pay off anything it was building up. Oh well. This show, along with Legends of Tomorrow, still remain my top 2 shows for almost being a chore to watch through. Honestly, I'd love to see DC try something new with all their superhero TV show lineup. It seems that with every year that passes, these CW shows just become more formulaic, stale, and dated. They continue to just keep adding them too without killing off much of any of them. This is all happening while I feel Marvel keeps upping the TV ante by doing new and different things. There was a time when I felt Marvel and DC were neck and neck in the TV game, but anymore I feel like Marvel is kicking DC butt. Come on DC!!!

Latest rumor is that Warner Bros does in fact have plans to eventually do another Justice League movie which would also include Robert Pattinson as Batman. It also talks about how JJ Abrams is the top pick to direct the project, with James Gunn also being considered as well. Personally, I'm all for this as I'm in the boat of wanting more inter-connectivity rather than less. Its also why I'm not as excited as most about the upcoming Joker movie. If Warner Bros has done anything well, its that they've assembled an amazing cast of actors and actresses where I'd hate to see them throw the baby out with the bath water. Sure, at this point, there is no going back to the full original team, but I'd love to see them attempt their best to keep as much of it intact as possible, even if it means a little wonkiness with different actors. At this point, I'm willing to accept some level of that to keep this thing going. Ever since I was a kid, I've dreamed of watching Justice League movies on the big screen and at this point, it would be a shame if what we got is all that we get. With the whole shared-universe or not debate, I could make a strong argument that the inter-connectivity is not only part of what makes all the DC characters great, but in some ways is almost essential. Shoot, of the two comic giants, I'd strongly argue that the DC universe relies more and has more connectivity than even the Marvel universe does. While they are at it, I really want Cavill back as well. Again, its not the actors/actresses that screwed this up, but rather the executives and creatives.

Jeffrey Wright will be the new Commissioner Gordon. I can picture him in the role. Apparently they were originally courting Mahershala Ali until the Blade role came along and he jump at that instead. I'm glad he did too. I could see Ali as a good Gordon, but I'd MUCH rather see him play Blade than Gordon. Ali needs to be the lead in whatever is next, not a supporting character.

Interesting that they are moving on from JK Simmons. I wonder if that means Jeremy Irons is out as Alfred Pennyworth? I don’t envy Matt Reeves trying to make a reimagined Batman that can still somehow tie-in to the “established” DC characters like Gal Gadots Wonder Woman and Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman.

Ok, now I'm looking forward to this one a bit more. Still not even close to #1 on my most anticipated list, but at least it is climbing some. Like I've said all along, I'm okay with this one Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey movie. I just don't want the ridiculous twenty, or whatever, Harley Quin spinoffs they kept talking about way back when Warner Bros/DC was a complete disaster.

Green Lantern?? Nope- WB
Man of Steel 2?? Nope- WB
20 Harley Quinn Spinoff Movies?? Yes- WB

Count me out. Might as well have called it Harley Quinn (and friends!). She was good in Suicide Squad and Margot Robbie is a great actress, I just don’t think the character can carry an entire movie.
