If 4 star RB's are just mediocre, then what's that make all of our RB's? I'm really excited about a 4 star RB playing DT for us... He's obviously talented.

4 star athletic ability. But that's about it. He hasn't been a dominant football player since he was in junior high. You can look it up. Iowa didn't touch him after JC. What does that tell you?

Btw, I am actually excited to have him in the program because of his potential but I think anything we get from him is gravy.

Any truth to this? It is clear that anybody on this team is expected to work really hard.

I was just speculating. But if I was depressed and hated being there that treadmill may be all it took to make me get out. We dont let kids half *** it.

As for Coe, I also feel people's expectations of him are way too high. I think he,is an exceptional athlete but his technique needs work.

Correct, which is why Bill Snyder offered his teammate instead IIRC. Coe has a reputation of overrunning the play and not staying in his lane. He needs to redshirt this year but with Bevins leaving not sure that will happen.

Coaches say good things about every player they recruit but a high percent do not pan out. Coe has a very poor attitude and work ethic despite being athletic. If CPR gets through to him it will be the first coach to ever do so.
Which translates to you thinking that he has a poor attitude and work ethic. Have you ever met the young man--or are you just listening to internet fodder?

I'm reasonably sure that CPR and his staff have actually done crazy things, like, say, sitting down and talking with him, watching him at practices, etc...

I have a good friend who is in administration at Iowa Western. His comment to me after Coe signed with us is that Rodney "is a beast". Looking forward to seeing how he develops with the Cyclones!

He was ranked ahead of Bibbs and Wimberly on Rivals for a reason. He has to have more than just raw talent to get that

Does he? I'd say the ranking services grade on just raw talent quite a bit. I mean, how many snaps on defense did the guy even play?

I have never really paid attention to JUCO stats in either football or basketball...especially places that are loaded with talent like Iowa Western in football and Indian Hills in basketball. I don't expect him to be an all-conference type player but the staff wouldn't have brought him in if they weren't high on him and they know more than anyone else on here.

He may end up a great player. As you noted, his college stats are very underwhelming so the ratings services obviously had to project based mostly on raw talent. That was my point.
