I think *chomps on chips* this kid *more chip chomping* is being a *strained swallow* big baby and should *beer swig* be giving everything *belch* he has.

*labored breathing*

I pay good *fart* money for my tickets and *beer chug* deserve to have him *forcing chips in* sacrifice everything for my *shaaaaart* entertainment.
was this a flash back to you posting about a certain running back in the old days?

Classic bash on clonedude post.

Here we go again. Every time clonedude posts something, some clown feels like they have to bash him and derail the thread instead of taking the time to post something intelligent and constructive to the conversation.

Congrats to you. I really hope you're about 10 years old? Because that's what you sound like. You might as well get over your hatred of me, it's disturbing. Ignore me if you don't like me. But don't act like a whiny little kid. Geeez.

Sorry I posted my feelings about this. I just have a gut feeling he'll go to Iowa. What's the big deal. It's not like that hasn't happened to us before. It's not very far fetched. Ever heard of Barkley Hill? Or Adam Haluska?

So Clonedude is now speaking in third person, creston is full of hoodlums who hang out on cyclone message boards and I'm guessing this is all over some girl. It never fails.just sucks he quit.

The first thing I thought of when I read that Ames was "to big" for him: Rural Nebraskan Not Sure He Could Handle Frantic Pace Of Omaha.

I wonder what he's really leaving for. Because if he really can just not handle living in a town bigger than Creston and is going home to be Al Bundy for the rest of his life I'm sad for him.
Loren Meyer went back to Ruthven after the NBA. You can always go back after you do your thing.

As far as Fred goes in North Platte, that is a metropolis compared to many towns in Nebraska like Pinder.

Speak of the devil of "playing half-heartedly"...Meyer is the poster boy. Never really dedicated himself to the game, to being the best he could be, just got by on talent.

Of course, he had a lot of raw talent.

I knew someone, back in the Eighties, who was a highly touted offensive line recruit and went to Iowa. He ended up quitting football, and quietly got his degree from ISU, doing a little hunting and fishing on the side. I didn't understand it then, but as he told me, he'd truly lost his passion for the game.

To be honest, that doesn't really sound like the case here with Bevins. When all's said and done, I'll happily let him take responsibility for his own life, and move on to rooting for the next guy in a Cyclone uniform.

Still, even if he doesn't plan on playing football, block him from transfering to Iowa.

We can't stop him from attending Iowa even if we wanted to. And if he does I'm hardly concerned about him.

As for Coe...he was a mediocre RB turned mediocre DE at JC. I don't see him suddenly becoming a solid DT at the Bog 12 level. I think we'll get more out of other guys already in the program.

Sure we can. He would either have to pay his own way next year or go somewhere else. Coach has the ability to block schools. I assume you payed attention to the Uthoff and Lunt situations

This. NFL? Wut??? But it isn't as baffling as the Rodney Coe talk. LOL. Simply a bad idea. I'm guessing/hoping they find someone to do a good job but I doubt Coe is going to be that guy.
I'll happily pay attention to what the coaches say about Coe, as opposed to your scoffing.

If he can't handle the "big city" of Ames, what makes you think he could handle Iowa City?

Depending on the situation a school can prevent someone from getting a scholarship to play a sport and/or can prevent them from being able to play in games for a year or two. But if somebody just wants to enroll and be a student they can transfer wherever they want just like any other student can.

As for Coe, I also feel people's expectations of him are way too high. I think he,is an exceptional athlete but his technique needs work.

Sure but it would be on his dime

One reason (along with conditioning) I'd love to see him be able to redshirt...he simply needs the time to learn.

So in other words we can't stop him. Just like I said. Paying one's one way for one year isn't a big deal.

At any rate I'm just plain not worried about it and the transferring to Iowa fodder is nothing more than Internet fodder not based in fact anyway.

Coaches say good things about every player they recruit but a high percent do not pan out. Coe has a very poor attitude and work ethic despite being athletic. If CPR gets through to him it will be the first coach to ever do so.

If 4 star RB's are just mediocre, then what's that make all of our RB's? I'm really excited about a 4 star RB playing DT for us... He's obviously talented.
