I think it's fair to also say that Michigan will have to worry about us. Royce, Booker, Gibson and Railey down low. The shooting ability of Scotty, Allen and Babb. Sledge could be a huge x-factor as well. Oh and McGee. They will have plenty to plan for.

Really wish Morris hadn't went pro early, Michigan would be a top ten team with him. Still will be a good test.

When you think about our record vs top 25 teams on the road over the last 10 years... this is going to be a HUGE test.

This will really let us know what kind of team we have.

Non-Conference road games against ranked opponents in the last 10 years?

0-2.

All-time?

Yeouch. The Clones were never very good away from home in the Johnny Orr era, so this shouldn't surprise me.

Providence is a Big East school, so it is a power conference matchup. They will be awful, but that is an enitrely different point.

Good preview CW, but I didn't care for this line:

"When you factor in that the 2011-12 Cyclones will essentially be brand new, give Michigan gets the edge when it comes to experience in this matchup."

Sure, Allen, White, Babb, Booker, Ejim, SC and Railey have all never played an NCAA sanctioned game together, but those seven guys have practiced together and built chemistry together for well over a year. The way I see it, we have three newcomers (Sledge, McGee and Gibson), not seven (Allen, White, Booker, Babb + Sledge, McGee and Gibson).

Furthermore, if we're talking just NCAA game experience, Allen and SC have played four years, but are actually in their fifth seasons of eligibility. Babb and Booker are in their fourth year of eligibility and White is in his third now. Plus, Ejim and Railey have a year under their belt and McGee played two years of JUCO ball. So while this roster may not have games together under their belt, there aren't a lot more experienced teams out there. Maybe seasoned is a better word to describe our roster next year?

A little confused by this CW

Last night at a Tailgate Tour event, Fred Hoiberg announced that his Cyclones would match up with the Big Ten’s Michigan Wolverines in each of the next two seasons, starting in Ann Arbor in 2011-12. Michigan will travel to Ames in 2013.

Are we playing them in Janurary? With an 18 game conference slate that seems strange. I know others thought we were skipping a year between games.

a little OT, but i thought it was hilarious cyclones.com said the series is being "renewed." from 1995?!?!

really impressed FH has been able to get home-home series with UVA and now Mich. I expect us to get invited to MUCH better preseason/holiday tourneys (BCS opponents, tourney on ESPN) once we have a good season and climb the b12 standings.
