"Komon Hakai, the owner of Niku Benki Asian grocery issued a public apology earlier this month after the recent rash of deaths caused by mutant hornet attacks."

"
“The entire shipment was riddled with larvae. We threw it in the dumpster and wrote it off. The next morning we noticed the dumpster was teeming with all these huge flying hornets "

He apologized for bringing them into the country guys, it's all good now. This guy certainly isn't he brightest guy in the world.

But wait, there's hope.

Hahahah. You and I had the exact same trajectory on this. I saw the first video on tv actually. Accidentally linked the 2nd instead... Yay bees! Different outcome.

Pretty soon Monsanto will tie all disappearing bee colonies to the hornets... And market crazy gmo bees at outrageous prices that only pollinate Monsanto seed, die after doing their duty so they have to be purchased every year, and produce a lot more honey, but it'll taste like corn syrup...

These things are closer to us than you think.... looks like they are planning their attack on Iowa by surrounding us first! Hornet Apocalypse may be not that far off after all....

Mutated Fukushima Giant Hornet Responsible For Multiple Nebraska Casualties | Jane M. Agni | National Report
Deadly Asian Giant Hornet Spotted in Arlington Heights, Illinois: Not Cicada Killer Wasp | The Cardinal

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but will reply as I go -

State Entomologist here. I've been talking with my Illinois counterparts and they are very concerned about the reports of the giant Asian hornets in their state. The presence of these insects has NOT been verified via official means.

I did receive one phone call this summer from someone who was SURE they had these and they were killing their bees. I sent someone out - - yep, cicada killer wasps.

Take home point for the day: Just cuz it's on the internet, it doesn't mean it's true.

There is a sincere and appalling lack of common sense in the country. And full-length mirrors so that people can see what they look like before the leave the house, but that's another story.

Spend 45 minutes on the phone, just once, with someone who is tripping, and JUST SURE that insects are crawling out of their eye sockets or skin or whatever - - or get a package in the mail of ear wax and various other pieces of 'evidence of bodily function' because they are JUST SURE they're the insects crawling out of their skin ... and you'll see my viewpoint.

I love my job but there are days that really make you evaluate the evolution of the human race.

I'm legit surprised they know enough at that point to call you. I'd figured that'd be a 911 call.

Africanized bees are endemic to parts of the US at this point in time. So far, they have not evolved to be able to handle winters up north, so they're stuck in mild-winter-areas for now.

Their calling card is that they are more defensive when provoked, as nicely summarized by Thee Ohio State University,

"The venom of an AHB is no more poisonous than that of their European counterparts. However, they are more defensive if provoked. The stinging response of AHBs is 10 times greater than that of European honey bees. Vibrations from motors, such as a power lawn mower or weed whacker, particularly seem to disturb them. When provoked, the bees will wander as far as a quarter mile from their nest to chase an intruder. However, individual AHBs on foraging trips for nectar and pollen are no more likely to sting than our European honey bees - they are not wanton killers."

When the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship receives a call about a possible Africanized honey bees in Iowa, we take it seriously. The State Apiarist goes onsite to verify. So far, it's been regular old European honey bees just having a bad day. It can be weather or other environmental conditions, a bad or missing queen ... and often an inexperienced beekeeper is involved.

Little-known fact: entomologist are freak magnents.

They do go to their doctors, but often, they've been dismissed so they're searching for someone else to listen and help them. And maybe the doctor suggested an anxiety, etc., prescription and they refused because they KNOW they're fine! JUST FINE except for the bugs under their skin... They become obsessed at finding someone to believe them.

In talking to other bug people, we thing that meth has been a boon to these kind of psychosis. And then there are the people that believe they have insects, so they scratch their skin off, or on a good day, repeatedly apply Raid, etc., to their skin. Then they can't figure out why their skin is raw, scratch, inflamed. And the skin flakes that come off (viola!) are the insects that they believe are causing all the symptoms. But they're a new kind of insects that doesn't look like an insect, its camouflaged as dead skin.

Google 'delusional parasitosis' if you're bored. [h=3][/h]
