I lived just west of CHC in college and stopped in all the time. Gets my vote for best chinese in Ames.
Everything is reasonably priced and the portions are great. The spicy rangoons are the best thing on the menu. I didn't know they had them till the owner told me, now I get an order every time I eat there.
Wow. I didnt know they had such a thing. Crab Rangoon is from the gods, and I love spicy food.
My roomie at the time worked at Golden Wok, so we went there a lot. Darn!

Its not the best in town, but it delivers, which was amazing after drinking.
If you dont like the options in Ames, dont ever move to des moines. Id love to have something as good as Cocost\CHC near me here. This thread makes me want to go to ames for some CHC right now.
Yes! And when we were really hungry, the buffet was always cool.
I always liked Little Taipei too. On Welch. Im not sure if its even still there.

I am from Des Moines, and their Chinese food blows Ames's out of the water. Go to Shang Yuen.
I'll give it a shot sometime. I'm on the far west side, not as many options out here.
Golden Wok's shrimp eggrolls are the best thing on their menu, everything else is just Americanese.

Yeah, i used to go to the tsing tsao on fleur when i worked over there. Wasnt as good as the ames options, imo, but not bad.

There is a place in Cobblestone that is great, but it's a sit down place and a little more pricey.
Yeah, but does it beat Shang Tsung? (or am I thinking of playing some Mortal Kombat?) :laugh:

I think I might live like 20 steps away from CHC. Is it right next to and connected to Swift Stop? Right by where the flying burrito used to be?
