Today when you buy a Blizzard at participating DQ's, a portion of the purchase will go to the Children's Miracle Network. As if you even need an excuse to get a Blizzard, this is a good one.

Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day

Says an additional donation is made if you RSVP on Facebook, but I'm not sure if that still applies since today is the day.

Had an issue last night at my local DQ, probably not going back.

I had a craving for a Kit-Kat blizzard, so i bought a couple to take in (b/c this DQ didn't have Kit Kat's) and they refused to make me one with the candy i brought in. Other DQ's had done it before, so i left without buying anything (the mrs. was not happy i came home with just a kit kat bar).

Because blending ice cream, milk, and kit-Kats at home is difficult HOW?

This is one of the weirdest things I've heard of somebody attempting/getting butt-hurt about. (With all due respect)

I kind of see where you're coming from, but I can also see the restaurant's stance. If you go to McDonald's, you don't bring your own potatoes and meat.

No doubt, this made you the Customer of the Day, the guy with the bizarre request that can't understand why they don't get their way on something simple and obvious.

Its not like the Dairy Queen employees are scientists. Blending candy bars and ice cream can be done by just about anyone.

I'm inclined to agree with the others here; this is a pretty ******* odd request and you shouldn't be butthurt that they didn't oblige you. Not only is it just strange in principle (DQ is not a "bring your own food and we'll prepare it for you" joint and if they allowed you to do this, they'd have to do it for every Joe Public too particular and/or lazy to make it at home), but I can see why it would be a liability risk to the franchise. What if you ha gotten sick from the food you brought in or choked on it, something like that, and decided to sue Dairy Queen?

I'm not sure if this is serious, but I'm thinking taking and using ingredients customers bring in in their filthy cars, using their filthy hands is some kind of health code violation, or it should be.

Meh. Dont see why not, probably saves the DQ money by not using their own candy. I am sure they charge the same amount as they would for a normal blizzard. On the other hand, i could see them saying no.

:twitcy: Wow. I'll let you decide if this comment was directed at you or DQ.

I try to do a nice thing to help some kids, & you guys just GOTTA make it into a "should you or shouldn't you be able to toss your own ingredients into your blizzard" argument?!

Just go buy a damn blizzard! And enjoy it!
