I dread next game against Iowa. I'm moving to Panama so I don't have to hear another obnoxious Hawk fan for another year. Barf.

There's that old saying about "Every day, swallow a live toad first thing. Then you can be sure that nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day." Therefore, live toad for everybody before game time next Saturday. Problem solved.

Other than the freezing TO right before the half, I didn't see too many coaching errors. Even that I don't want to question a lot since their kicker already missed a short FG. Really just need to make the tackle on that play or the officials need to call holding on the guy that tackled to defender that got into the backfield.

Player errors, especially Lanning's play was a different story, basically 4 turnovers on him. He has got to be a lot smarter with the ball.

Yes, the OL was not good, but everyone expected that, just not to that extent.

I expect some changes in the starting lineup for the Iowa game based on how guys played. There were a lot of freshman that played, and played pretty well, which reinforces how poorly the prior coaching staff recruited.

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

Coaching errors:
1. Playing calling appeared to be done by child with new grasp of football. I thought by hiring an entire football staff, we'd fix some of those issues. The fighting toledos weren't asked to beat Oklahoma yesterday. They were asked to beat uni who played like ****.

2. Penalties. Some is on players, but sloppy play is partial on coaches.

3 12 men on field at kickoff. A coach clearly pushed the 12th guy out there.

4. Being forced to take a timeout right after uni.

5. Running a play for warren when he fumbled. He had done jack **** all night. Has a huge history fumbling late in games and Lazard was on fire.

Coaches **** the bed. They can't possibly be as bad as they appeared last night. But no one should pretend they were anything but awful last night.

whatever. I still like Campbell. But to act like his debut was anything short of a ducking failure on his staff and him is delusional.

My dead grandma would have been better.

Seriously you need to take a break on this crap. Between this and the Hoiberg stuff you have the emotional stability of a menopausal woman.

I just feel bad for Lazard. Poor guy. Could have been playing big time football and he's stuck with this. A truer Cyclone will never be found.

Yep and he appears to have improved this year.

At this point maybe he can coach.

KU and San Jose st, but that is all I see....

The real question is do we play close enough to anyone to have awful losses like Toledo last year, k state, Oklahoma state, or hell Baylor.

Without some huge oline improvements I would say NO... I also think next week is going to be really ugly.....

All the off-season hype videos, hashtags, etc ring hollow after that **** fest last night. It's great that we are doing stuff like that but then you have to back it up or you just look like bunch of jack asses.

I am afraid we wiffed on the OC hire. Hope I'm wrong but some of the play calls late in the game were bad.
I was afraid the play calling would suffer when CMC's OC stayed at Toledo. It would have been nice to get the whole staff to come.

Maybe so. But he was never as incompetent as Campbell and his guys were tonight. They were worse than the players and the players were bad.

Maybe it happened so often you got used to it and could no longer recognize it bc last night looked like a CPR team from head to toe, complete with Sam Richardson 2.0 at QB.

I think he got off to a sluggish start last night but there was a point when he seemed to figure out that he was the biggest guy out there and no one could stop him. I loved his attitude, he showed just how great a leader his is in the 2nd half. He's going to break tons of receiving records, be beloved by ISU for years, have a great individual career but it definitely stings that he more than likely will never play on a winning team. He's just such a team player and a guy that clearly loves ISU.
