Some local BBQ places serve homemade tenderloins too. Its real tough to pass up on pulled pork, but some places will top the sandwich so I don't have to choose. A few places may be smoking the pork loin before breading and frying for great taste, but some may skip that step. I need to know of any more places that make homemade tenderloins.
I hope the pictures load right:
BPT from Jethro's in Des Moines:
The Jethro with 4 kinds of pork piled on top:
BPT with fried okra from Shane's Rib Shack, may be just temporary special:
The Big Pig tenderloin from KC BBQ:
Discontinued BPT from Findlay's Butcher Shop (full BBQ menu) south of downtown:
BPT with homemade chips (tossed with homemade bbq seasoning) from Cactus Bob's in Johnston:
Personally, I live close to Jethro's and Wendell's, just a few blocks from the Smoke Shack on Cottage Grove. I recommend Shane's for the patio and nice interior, Wendell's is best value, Jethro's has sports on TV. I'm not real critical of who has the bes ribs, and I don't even eat beef, the brisket at some places has so much rendered fat its like my heart beats slower after eating it.
