Alternatively, LSU is just a team with a loss to an unranked team who just jumped up 5 spots into the top ten because they beat another team that already had a loss to an unranked team.
That’s the advantage of taking the losses when you do. Early season losses are always better when the quality of teams is very much in flux.

You can micro manage any of the ratings to get them to say just about anything you want

They also lost to a mediocre USC team and last time I checked ISU doesn't have a loss.
ISU also has only 1 win against a P4 team above 500.

It’s halfway through the season and barely into conference play, you can argue just about any point but still way too much season ahead to draw any real conclusions

Yeah, and we're ISU fans so were allowed to be pissed if a team with a similar resume jumps 5 spot to pass us in the rankings, a benefit you only see given to SEC and a select few other teams.

Nothing has changed and these aren’t the rankings that matter. The best part about the playoff is that no matter what happens you win the conference game and you’re in. ISU is so much better than the rest of the Big12.

We don't need to be lectured by Sparty on how we should feel about our team on an ISU message board. You can move along now.

Honestly, I'm not even upset that LSU jumped us, it's just kind of funny because it isn't logical. Both them and Ole Miss have very similar resumes so far. And their game went to OT in Death Valley. If you're a voter that votes Ole Miss at or near #18, then #13-16 should be plenty high for LSU.

Ole miss has an extra loss and no good wins, honestly no even decent wins, they probably shouldn’t be ranked but that would require the rankings to be fully reworked every week, which should happen but it doesn’t

So you're saying that LSU should be even lower?

Eric Hansen of the South Bend Tribune has us #18. His poll is atrocious. ND at #7,
A&M at #8 to justify inflating ND. BYU #9 is somehow worthy of 9 spots higher than us. #14-17 right ahead of us are Ole Miss, KState, Boise State and SMU.

Some people don’t deserve to cover the sport.
Everyone needs to go to College Poll Tracker and vote this jerk into first place for the worst voter ranking.

Strange how when we finally get an "Iowa-like" schedule... we're in the top 10 in the country. Amazing how that works!
Oh and they are HATING it...my Hawkeye friends were pretty chipper in the group chat after that WVU drive to start the game. Then it was "WVU sucks" and "this Ohio State/Oregon game is amazing" the rest of the way.

Outside of three teams in the Big 10 add two or three in the SEC, not very impressed with either league as a whole. But of course that doesn’t show up in the rankings.
