I'm not going to complain about the rank for ISU, but LSU jumping 5 spots to 8 is ridiculous.
Florida is not good. Squeaking out a home win (in OT) against them as a top 10 team is not a good look for Tennessee, especially coming off an upset loss last week at Arkansas.I didn't expect it, either, then I looked at last week, only 8 points separated the two, and ISU now is 2 points ahead. So it seems reasonable.
Jumping Tennessee is more surprising to me - almost 150-point difference last week, +23 for ISU this week. Winning at WVU got more value among voters than close home win vs. Florida. That seems like Bizarro World to think such a thing.
Hopefully at least one of them beat the Irish.Decent chance they have to play conference championship game against each other and then play again the weekend in the regular season army navy game. They both also get Notre Dame in the coming weeks!
Brett McMurphy has been pretty high on us for a few weeks now as well. Think he had us seventh.Dylan Sinn of the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette votes us the #5 team in the land
Why? They beat a top ten team and everyone they passed beat unranked/bad teamsI'm not going to complain about the rank for ISU, but LSU jumping 5 spots to 8 is ridiculous.
Let’s be honest.. Ole Miss was overrated. Never once felt like they were a top-ten team in what I’ve seen of them this year. Why? They beat a top ten team and everyone they passed beat unranked/bad teams
Meanwhile there are two 2-loss teams (both in the SEC and Big 10 of course) who lost last week and are still ranked for some reason. That pre-season top 10 ranking gives you a big buffer (as long as you're in the SEC or Big 10)!BYU has beaten two top 25 teams. Yet not even in the top 10.
No they haven’tBYU has beaten two top 25 teams. Yet not even in the top 10.
Yeah I edited, didn’t see SMUSMU and K State?
Still lower than the playoff seed the Cyclones are getting.Dylan Sinn of the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette votes us the #5 team in the land
The hope is that the committee will be much more cognizant of that because it's their freakin job. But we know we can't put too much stock in anything the committee does regarding the Big 12.BYU has beaten two top 25 teams. Yet not even in the top 10.
Alternatively, LSU is just a team with a loss to an unranked team who just jumped up 5 spots into the top ten because they beat another team that already had a loss to an unranked team. Why? They beat a top ten team and everyone they passed beat unranked/bad teams
