I didn't expect it, either, then I looked at last week, only 8 points separated the two, and ISU now is 2 points ahead. So it seems reasonable.

Jumping Tennessee is more surprising to me - almost 150-point difference last week, +23 for ISU this week. Winning at WVU got more value among voters than close home win vs. Florida. That seems like Bizarro World to think such a thing.
Florida is not good. Squeaking out a home win (in OT) against them as a top 10 team is not a good look for Tennessee, especially coming off an upset loss last week at Arkansas.

The AP rankings now include 10 of the 11 remaining unbeaten FBS teams. Liberty is the only unranked unbeaten.

ISU is ranked well ahead of three other unbeaten P4 teams in BYU, Indiana and Pitt. I think it's well-deserved given our smashing of BYU last season and ISU's SOS (30) compared to Indiana (71) and Pitt (59).

Eric Hansen of the South Bend Tribune has us #18. His poll is atrocious. ND at #7,
A&M at #8 to justify inflating ND. BYU #9 is somehow worthy of 9 spots higher than us. #14-17 right ahead of us are Ole Miss, KState, Boise State and SMU.

Some people don’t deserve to cover the sport.

"LSU is fantastic, they (barely) beat a Top 10 team"
"Mississippi is overrated, they lost (on the road, by three points) so they should drop nine spots"

It's a funny system. We credit teams for beating someone then immediately say well I guess that someone wasn't all that good.

If tech wins against Baylor and @tcu and we beat UCF, I could see a morning show coming to Ames. Gameday will likely go to Penn State with OSU coming to town but Big Noon would be smart to come to Ames in that scenario

BYU has beaten two top 25 teams. Yet not even in the top 10.
The hope is that the committee will be much more cognizant of that because it's their freakin job. But we know we can't put too much stock in anything the committee does regarding the Big 12.

We're already seeing some in the national media start their Boise State for the 4th seed campaign. Anything to downgrade the Big 12.
