Stanford is really, really freakin' good.

Performances like the one I'm watching tonight from this team are why I would love to see a playoff.

They are making it look easy. I'd like to see a 4 team playoff between them, TCU, Auburn, and Oregon. (so, basically the current top 4 ranked BCS teams)

How many shifts did they make on that play on their last offensive series? I think I enjoyed it mores than VT did...

They had their playoff against oregon, and oregon beat the hell out of them in the 2nd half. But I would also enjoy a playoff.. would be fun to see them play again.

Anyone sick of ESPN and their constant looking to the future/lack of journalistic integrity? Reece Davis asked Harbaugh about his timetable for a decision on his job/future while they were ACCEPTING THE ROSE BOWL TROPHY!!! The game just finished. just let them enjoy the damn win ESPN...he then proceeded to ask the same question to Luck about whether he'll be back his senior year. I loved how BOTH of them didn't even give a dignified answer and just talked about about the win/game.

I think it would be a good game if they played again at the end of the season. Kind of like the Washington/Nebraska game.

ESPN is becoming TMZ like with trying to get information and break stories. They're so agenda driven anymore. Just let the team enjoy the win...I'm sure Harbaugh and Luck will announce their future plans soon and then ESPN can go crazy with coverage and have like 15 different "experts" they employ go over it again and again

This is basically the only playoff I would want to see. Leave everything as it is, but use the 4 BCS bowls as a mini-playoff. You'd have your 6 conference champions, and 2 at larges. Then, you eliminate the specific tie ins, and just seed those 8 teams. This year it would look something like:

1) Auburn v. 8) UConn
2) Oregon v. 7) Va Tech
3) TCU v. 6) Oklahoma
4) Wisconsin v. 5) Stanford

The winners of those 4 games would play a semi-final, and the winners of those 2 games play for the whole thing. It's sort of like the NFL where you win your division (conference) your in, and the at-large are like the wild cards. Just like the NFL, you're wild card might actually be better than some of the other conference champs (as Stanford and TCU have shown), but that's the way it goes. They'd still get a shot.

Where would you play those games? Would people be willing to travel to watch their teams 3 weeks in a row?

Probably not, which is a big, big part of why playoffs are the pipe dreams of talking heads everywhere and will likely never happen.

As far as where you play them, you'd start with the 4 BCS bowls, and just extend the season another 2 weeks. Maybe you'd play at some of the other BCS sites?

I don't think this is going to happen in the next 30 years, but I'm just putting the best compromise I could think of out there.

Also, the at-larges would simply be the 2 teams with the highest BCS ratings that didn't win their conference.

I am a huge fan of Bud Foster and not so much of a fan of Harbaugh so I was disappointed with the final score. However, I would love to see Harbaugh go to Michigan and take it to the Big 10.

The empty upper deck last night stood out like a sore thumb. Sending UCONN to the Fiesta Bowl and Stanford to the Orange Bowl when the Rose was required to take TCU made no sense.

I'll bet the Michigan AD was watching the game last night. I'd say Harbaugh for DickRod would be a pretty good upgrade.

On Mike and Mike this morning they said a "source close to Harbaugh" stated that he was "very unlikely" to take the UM job if it opened up. He will either stay at Stanford or go to the NFL.

Now maybe the guy has a change of heart if the Michigan job opens up, I don't know. He could also just be "firmly entrenched" and waiting for that big offer.

I would guess he would rule the Big 10 in short order at Michigan. BUt maybe he does not view that as much of a challange.:jimlad:
