There has been only one Costco in the state for the longest time until just lately when a second one as added in Corallville, and you are whining about driving 15 minutes to the one by you???? There is probably a lot of people throughout the state giving you some unkind gestures right now.

My wife had a theory that the new construction south of Kingdom hoops was going to be s Sams or Costco cause of the gas stain going in front, i think it's just more retail shopping

Too lazy to drive? Surprised you went thru the arduous process of joining. I mean, it's not like other stores where you just go in and pick up stuff and then pay for it. Plus, they limit your choice of payment. Oh, and with those large sizes, everything is so HEAVY. The potential for outrage is limitless, really.

Oh, and I say this as a current Costco member who drives 35 minutes from Marion to the new one in Corallville and am happy as pie to do it. Therefore, I apologize if my sympathies aren't overflowing.

I thought at one time a Fleet Farm was coming to Ankeny and think its that.

Awesome! I live 2 miles from a Fleet Farm and it is great. It was one thing that sold us on the location of our house.

I am feeling really, really spoiled reading this thread. I have three Costcos within 15 miles of my house and two more within 25 miles.

Costco has land bought in Ankeny and Altoona next too Bass Pro Shops. Will probably be 3-4 years before any construction begins.

I would wager Ankeny needs more than two roads. That would cut your drive to either of those two in half!
