Wow, that is a totally brazen move to get more Iowa residents I'd guess. And push directly into ISU's territory.

Why doesn't ISU have outreach campus/satellite locations throughout the state?

I can understand why they are doing it. How many students did AIB have?

No mention of the Board of Regents or the cost to the state to make this happen. Was AIB going under or something?

About 1000 I think. Most are pursuing A.A.S. degrees I believe so this is more about the facilities and starting new programs I would think.

This cannot be good for the growth of the ISU MBA program, especially the part time program. One thing the part time program lacks are good facilities and support in the Des Moines area. Up until now, the ISU and Iowa MBA programs have been relatively even in that they both have similar facilities and support in the area. Now that AIB will become apart of Iowa, I cold see the Iowa MBA program take of in Des Moines with not only their own buildings for class rooms, but full time support staff and resources to help future students of the program.

For those who do not know, the ISU MBA part time program leases some office space in capital square, but does not have a full time staff person in the office space. In fact, the space is shared so that businesses utilize the class rooms during the days for meetings, and the students use it at night for class. Most MBA students come from the Des Moines area, the reason for having classes in both Des Moines (Part Time) and Ames (Full Time)

With all the cost cutting going on at the state universities, wouldn't it better if they went with ISU? This is just an odd move.

But Iowa already has a central Iowa campus!
