I think I could be happy if CMC stayed here 12 seasons.Campbell is 2 wins under Mac For conference wins. 5 versus 12 seasons. Mac averaged 2.2 conference wins a season.
Why not double that?

Ah yes. We fumbled three times in the quarter. Good times, good times.
I was at that game. KSU fans were congratulating us in the 4th quarter....we told them not so fast...its ISU football you'll see....I hate being right.
Might as well update his standings against all the other Cyclone HC’s.As an update on the numbers, Campbell is at 33-27 through 60 games and Rhoads was at 25-35 at the 60 game mark.
Also, Campbell has already surpassed Rhoads for total wins at Iowa State. CPR's overall record was 32-55.
We should all remember: "Things are never as good as they seem and they are never as bad as they seem." Things seemed much worse than they really were after the UL game.Luckily I wasn’t part of this thread. My computer was in the shop getting fixed because I threw it during this game. My keyboard keys would have been on fire with everyone else’s.
So.......we aren’t as good as we think we are......you saying we lose Saturday?? Sum’a’beacthWe should all remember: "Things are never as good as they seem and they are never as bad as they seem." Things seemed much worse than they really were after the UL game.

Another bit of trivia, Campbell is tied with Clyde Williams for 5th winningest coach at ISU. He is 3 wins behind Earle Bruce(1973-78) and A. W. Ristine(1902-06). Stapleton(1958-1967) had 42 wins and McCarney(1995-2006) had 56 wins.Might as well update his standings against all the other Cyclone HC’s.

Campbell also holds the highest winning percentage at ISU since WW1 (Charles Mayser was 21-11-2 from 1915-1919).
So he could be tied for 3rd winningest coach by the end of the season.Another bit of trivia, Campbell is tied with Clyde Williams for 5th winningest coach at ISU. Love CPR but he had one winning season, that was his first. CMC has one losing season also his first.
I don't want to bang on Rhoads but I remember constantly telling at the TV during Rhoads tenure that the stupid mistakes the team kept making weren't mistakes that winning football teams made.I appreciate what Rhoads did in his tenure and he had some memorable moments but it is night and day difference how much better Campbell's teams play. We have a few stinkers for losses under Campbell but if you look over the game logs of both coaches Campbell's team usually had chances to win a lot of games they lost while Rhoads had some ugly blowouts we had no chance at winning.
Campbell is +6 in conference wins though. That's significant!Campbell 26-26 now
Rhoads 24-28 thru 52
Being blunt, if what you get from a coach is hope, it’s best to start looking for a new one. Hope is not a game plan to use. Systems, functions and processes are want you want for a plan. CPR bounced around too much and didn’t have a plan to get from A to B.CPR opened our eyes to a whole lot of hope, and that's awesome. I don't ever want to take that away from him. It seemed impossible at the time.
Campbell went beyond the glimpses of hope and made all of it real. I know that anyone who wants can find posts of mine saying that it couldn't be done here. Once Rhoads couldn't, I figured that was as good as we were gonna get. I also was very wrong.
That sentence was almost "Prophet" worthy! There is no excuse for two special teams tds. But, as a special teams coach, the first game always scares me to death. Because of injury risks you really cannot simulate it in practice and film of other team may not be reliable. Two special team plays is the reason this thread even exists. If oline continues to improve then no one well even talk about this game except how it kept us from a high national ranking. This season will be a crap shoot due to covid.
Not what a process team is comfortable with by any means. Our state hs programs are just trying to function week to week. It is and will be a crazy year of football.
Why? He's just stating fact.
