@ 8:30 pm on the Connections Channel

It will also air Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 11am

We will be back on 8/21 and begin our weekly tapings, through April. Thanks to those of you that email the folks there to let them know its something you enjoy and wanted to see back. Hard to believe this will be the fourth year.

This year, we are doing a number of new twists...starting with Deace delivering the State of the Hawkeye Nation, and me doing the same for ISU. I think this is bound to be pretty edgy....and Deace came out guns blazing today. I shot back pretty hard, so the sparks were flying and we were just in our first show.

Should be a fun year.

Fortunately, I'm no longer a prisoner of Mediacom. I miss this show from time to time, but my respect for Deace has fallen straight through the ground.

I agree, that if you could get this off on something other than a Mediacrap channel you might actually get some viewers in the area.

I just can't find myself watching it as long as Deace is the so called 'voice of the Cyclone Nation'.

I agree. I'd rather watch Jon discuss the Hawks than Steve discuss the Cyclones.

Sorry Jon, I just refuse to do it. And fortunately, I don't even have the opportunity to tune in.

State of the Nations, Cyclone Replay, and classic Cyclone games on Mediacom Channel 22 are the only things keeping me from switching over to Direct TV.

our Voice of the Cyclone Nation predicted that ISU would go 0-12 last year. He also said EIU was better than ISU at every single position.

Too bad we can't nominate a real Cyclone for the job.

I enjoy the show. I don't know much about Deace's background or quite understand the level of hate, but I think it's pretty apparent that he follows ISU at least some and college sports quite a bit. I don't agree with everything that he says, but I don't have to to be able to enjoy it.

He said this, word-for-word, on CycloneNation - the site he used to run. The only modification was to put the text with his photo, slap a Michigan logo on his chest (it's probably there anyways) and put the last part of the quote in bold red text.

Now keep in mind, that unimportant "offseason football stuff" for ISU that he was referring to, was during the Chizik's first year off-season.

Doesn't seem like it takes much for the job... We're talking about a TV show by some bloggers/hack it radio personalities... And it's on basically a public access station.....

I'd like to see a quality local sports TV show that actually talks about games...

Some people like Soundoff, but they tend to talk more about the fans and issues surrounding the games and hyping up the games for next week... I'd like it better if they actual would talk about something relevant to the game, instead we get fans say "ISU sucks" or "Fire Chizik" or whatever.

I don't understand what would be hard about having a 30-45 minute TV show on a regular station that talks about actual games. Not these coaches shows where they kiss up, but has actual opinions and thoughts.

Perhaps this State of Nations would be more like that (I've never seen in), but this Deace guy sounds like he doesn't really know anything.

Perfect summary of that show.

That would certainly be enjoyable.

I can't fully agree with that. He does have good sports knowledge, but I hate the fact he's who we have as the voice for Cyclone Nation.

I would think that one of the requirements for being the "voice" of Cyclone Nation would be to actually be a part of Cyclone Nation. Just sayin......

Apparently the requirment is more along the lines of "I think I can financially benefit from acting like I care about Cyclone Nation".

Until you actually do a tv show, and fill an hour, and speak cogently and with opinion and try to be in depth, don't knock it til you've tried it ;) And Deace and I must be magicians...we have two multimillion dollar (billion in one instance) companies fooled...

As for public access...sign me up for life to do a tv show that has a reach of 400,000 people. If you want to call that local access, go ahead

Wow - lot of Deace haters out there. Well if you can get another radio host on WHO radio (home & away voice of the hawkeyes) to give ISU props as Deace does consistently on his show go for it. I think way too many of you don't like his religious view and hold that against him.

To be completely honest, I have no idea what his political views are. I seriously don't know if he's a elephant or donkey. I'm generally not a fan of politics and never listen to it on the radio.

I have significant dislike for him because of his $ driven support for ISU and he can't even support/promote ISU properly. Not to mention, his complete disregard and mistreatment of paying customers.

Label me as a Deace political hater if you want - but you'd be sorely mistaken.
