There was a dribble in there too. All done in 2.2 seconds.

Below is the Valpo shot against Ole Miss

2.5 seconds on the clock. Got it off with 1.

1.5 seconds from touch to shot with a pass in between.

Great find, but Drew was already in the front court, not in the back court like the Arizona kids were last night.

You said they would not be able to inbound to someone and the ball and pass it to a shooter with 2.2 left in time to get a shot off.

2 things, first with the Baylor game, I understand it was not the same spot, but the clock doesn’t start with the ball in the air so clearly, you can make a pass, and get a shot off with 2.2 seconds.

Secondly, in one of the most famous shots in NCAA tourney history, Bryce Drew in 1998 had a play where they threw it from the baseline with 2.5 seconds (yes I know, before a stupid comment from you, it’s not 2.2) but he got the pass with 2.5 and got the shot off with a full second left on the clock, so yea, you can get a shot off from a pass on the baseline with 2.2 seconds with a 2 people touching the ball, one of those people making a pass.

Please explain in your infinite wisdom again, how that’s not possible, when it’s literally happened.
Again, the Arizona players were in the back court, no, they cannot make a baseball pass up to a forward, he catches it, and they run to into the front court and catch then shoot the ball in 2.2 seconds. Again Drew started at half court or in the front court, not in the back court. The Arizona players are not the Flash, and its going to take time for them to get into the front court. I would take my chances on a tip and a player grabbing it and making that shot, way over a player catching it, dribbling once or twice and then shooting, even if it is further away from the basket. Fran said the same thing, the key is to catch if, and dribble once or twice to get squared up to the rim and your momentum behind you.
It was a lucky shot, the kid could be in the gym today, and hit might hit it again 2 or 3 times out of 100. That does not take away that we should have defensed it differently and it will be interesting to see if that situation comes up again at the end of the half or game if we do anything different.

What are you actually talking about?

Do you even know what you’re talking about?

Good grief. Just take the L and move on. You are making yourself look really, really dumb.

In case you forgot, this is an exact quote of what you said.

“There was 2.2 seconds on the clock, they are not going to be able to throw it the length of the court, and then kick it out to get a shot. If they throw it the length of the court that guy has to shoot it, or they are going to run out of time”

It's "site", not "sight", you know like website not eyesight. Kind of weird being called clueless after that but whatever.

I'll be civil, if you go to his T-Ranketology tab you can see Houston is projected as a1 right now and we are a 2. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's based off projections, not a snapshot of right now.

So as you can see, Houston is very much in the running for a 1 seed right now and is a favorite to reach that.

There's still over 50% of the season left so alot can can change. Its not so much that the loss hurt us, it's that we were denied one of the signature wins in the entire country on some fluke play. That could have really been a deciding factor if we end up competing with them for a 1 seed.
Beat them in Houston, beat them in KC, we get the1.
Way more speculation about nothing we can change always amuses me.

That was a gut punch game. But I am more focused on the Clones beating K-State on Saturday. K-State's had a tough season, but in the games I have watched they're a team that can beat Iowa State if they play well and we don't play well after a tough loss.
Games like these are appendix games. It can do nothing for you but hurt you. Even if we beat them by 20 it does nothing. Lose, and the appendix bursts and kills you.

I disagree. I was bummed out all day, but if we kill K-State then I'll have a pep in my step Saturday

Way up there
I don't blame TJ for not calling a timeout or not fouling but he either stopped coaching or just called a terrible play to defend the last possession. No way we should've just let Love catch the ball and dribble with no pressure on the ball at all. Our guys looked lost, after two free throws, he had plenty of time to let them know what they should do. It was a lucky shot but he should never have gotten the ball as far down the floor as he did. We let up for 2 seconds and it's cost us.

They let him dribble right to his spot. His forward momentum going straight at the basket. He hits the rim 9 out of 10 times, and probably makes that 1 in 10.

Anything you say, the genius of basketball. I am sure TJ has you on speed dial, so you can approve of what he is doing. Your example was wrong, someone else found one from a dozen years ago, but I am the one that is dumb. What ever, I bow to the genius of basketball

Still think Jefferson should’ve intentionally missed the second free throw. No way Arizona gets a clean look off a rebound.

But then we would all be bemoaning the staff for not making the 2nd free throw if the UA rebounder passed the ball to Love and he made a 65' shot to win the game in regulation.

The staff made the right decision for Jefferson to make the 2nd free throw to make the difference 3 points. Monday morning QBing is what sports fans do. But the reality is Love made a 5% shot.

There are perfect storms, but this teetering on a trend since we have seen it handful of times this year. 16-0 run is a lot for how talented and well balanced we are on both sides of the ball.
Yeah, that was bad.
However, the Cyclones ended the half on a 5-0 run, courtesy of Tamin Lipsey.

Lot of that was not putting a body on their offensive rebounder. Couldn’t help but think Rob Jones would have put a body on that guy. I didn’t see Jackson look for someone to block out.

I remember playing full court at the state gym in the 80’s with Gary Thompson and you just couldn’t get an offensive rebound on him. I’m sure the team will work on that for Saturday.

Tamin probably should have gone up and pressured him more so he couldn’t step into it as easily. Looked like he was going to then hesitated as he wasn’t sure exactly what Love was going to do. Hindsight is 20/20 and he made an improbable shot from well beyond half court. Still a little sick to my stomach over it.

This one has stuck with me for longer than any other recent loss I can remember. They played their asses off and deserved to win that game, but as William Money said...
