And if they fouled, AZ made one and got the rebound and scored people would have said why not let them shoot a 50 footer.
And how many times has that actually happened compared to what we saw last night? I've never seen it before but I've seen plenty of players like that bs go in.

The toughness and effort on a short turnaround in a tough environment were great. The turnover problems need to get cleaned up. Still not seeing consistent actual offense. Lots of overdribbling and dependence on guys making quite a few fairly high degree of difficulty shots.

But these are things that can be addressed. This team has guts.
The way I look at it is the team is a lock for the NCAA tournament. I’m not so worried about the seed ISU receives as I think they can beat anyone and anywhere. The team has about 7 more weeks to clean up some of the turnover issues on offense (as you mentioned, too much dribbling overall). But the toughness and grit will show up every single game.

It sucks to be on the wrong end of a desperation heave, but taking my blinders off, it was a hell of a shot. Tip your cap, learn from it, and move on

Meh, you dribble into traffic like that and you’re not getting that call too often. It’s just a given that there’s some slapping and grabbing when you drive into three sets of hands in the lane. Right or wrong that seems to be viewed as a bailout if called.
So you're saying that, generally, officiating is terrible. What is the point of a rule if it isn't enforced?

Any way you look at it, the three point shot was a miracle that doesn’t happen 99% of the time. The overtime performance was a different story. Thats being smacked in the face and taking it.

We dropped to 5th in Ken Pom and will soon be passed by tennesse as well as they play a lot better schedule. Just really hard to move up given the way the schedule is. Number 1 seed is going to be pretty tough I think.
#1 seed is out of the question now unless we win at either Houston or Kansas. There's no guarantee we don't slip up in another road game like UCF either.

We are basically competing with Houston and a 2nd SEC school and maybe Michigan St. The rest of our schedule is pretty bad so we don't have alot of chances left for a signature win.

I usually get over losses quickly.
Couldn't sleep last night.
I fear that I won't move on until we play in Phog.
That one broke me.

I think it is pretty cool that a college basketball blueblood (with no history between us, unlike KU) was so absolutely jacked to take us on and ultimately to steal the win. Their crowd was standing half the game!!! Great atmosphere. I get a lot of that was our ranking, but it is also our reputation, and we’ve earned that respect.

That's called anecdata. The actual data doesn't back this up. It's about a wash. But why am I not surprised that Mr negative here would not use data to make a negative conclusion about this team. Give me a break.

First time I've seen this team not respond... but i can understand given the road trip and the gut punch.

As a fan of the 2000 team that lost to msu on their "home" floor with home cooked officiating.... I'll never claim a seed doesn't matter.

Really hard to come up with words for that one. The result flat out sucks. Macro level - doesn't hurt the team much. Winning on the road is tough. And hell, it might propel is to win even tougher road games @ KU and @ Houston. But a loss is a loss, and a loss is never a good thing.

Just gotta hit free throws. Same thing happened to Tech against us...
It actually stinks metric wise we lost in other. Vegas had us losing by 1... ended up losing by 10. That looks worse to metrics.

Unless ot games get scored as net 0? Not sure.

Same. Trying to think where this one ranks as all time nut kicks. It's top 5 for me, for sure.
I'm still sick and didn't even watch the game. We've had 2 of the biggest road wins in the entire sport taken from us on complete fluke plays just in the last calendar year now.

I'm only going over major things when I say this. Look what it took for Arizona to win on their home court. Poor FT% by ISU, CUJO, one of the worst games of his season, Milan out with injury and a stupid buzzer beater to send it to OT.
I'm not going to panic, neither should you.
The only concern I'm showing is this seems like several games where we've turned in a "b" performance at best...especially on the road. At what point is that just our road games? And how does that effect on a neutral?

I didn't see it but if they were dribbling into the lane/traffic that's not what I'd call prevent.
If anything work the ball around a bit to make the opponent have to chase and play D.

I've said it in some other game thread but the unforced turnovers are going to be a big factor in ending this team's season if they don't start getting more patient.
Leave it to the forum for people to criticize the teams decisions on a game they didn't even watch! You can't make this up.
