I am anxiously checking this thread every few days to see if we add the 6-10 German kid to this class. Hoping we do.

I agree. Hope we get that kid. He does not look like an American style big man. More of a Milan type big man. Those dudes can kill opposing teams in college. Martin Rancik type player

Hmm. Over Nojus? Heise?
Maybe, but don't see it, especially if Milan, Jackson and Jefferson all return.
I think highly of both, but I think Batemon will be better than them. I just get a Monte/Haliburton/Niang "it" vibe from him.

I could see Heise initially starting over him from a culture perspective until TJ just can't not start Batemon.

That being said, I'd love to see Nojus take a huge step forward both defensively and understanding the system as I love his tool set and potential too.

Bateman is a shooting guard so he wouldn't be playing in the front court. I don't think he'd start over Heise but can see him replacing Jones' role coming off the bench. Then again, Nous could start and Heise retain his role coming off the bench. Having minimum drop-off from the starting rotation is a nice luxury to have as we're seeing this season. Let's hope we continue the over 80-pt streak vs. Colorado tonight.
I understand that Bateman is a guard. My point being that with the 3 front court guys, plus Lipsey, there's only one starting spot open. Thus my thinking Bateman won't start ahead of Heise or Nojus.

On the other hand, one (or both) of those 2 will need to be a secondary ball handler. So maybe Bateman is more capable in that respect.

Finally, as Cyforce pointed out, TJ likes significant 3-guard lineup minutes. He uses multiple combinations, so whatever is working.

We all know TJ likes to stay around 8 for a rotation. Five of those guys hopefully return. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the other three?

Obviously the big German would be a HR big we’d be different but more athletic. Jefferson would likely handle the backup 5 minutes in the frontcourt but we’d still be looking at four guys combining to max out at 85 minutes.

Batemon seems like a likely insertion as his game cries Gilbert. I do think however Hiese would be the starter as Batemon isn’t a grown ass man yet like our current guards.

I don’t know much about the other newcomers but Indrustaitis seems like the ideal shooter to compliment this group. But you have to wonder if there won’t be a target in the portal.

We are sure to go big game hunting for one of the best transfer guards in the country this offseason I would imagine. A deep deep post season run will really help with that. Gilbert and Jones leaving opens up a role for a stud combo guard capable of putting up 15 ppg a night.

You really hope Indrusaitis can take a major leap and/or Batemon is absolutely the real deal which looks promising.

My first thought is that TJ has gotten multiple transfers every single offseason that have been major parts of the rotation. However, next season feels a bit different as there will be multiple guys in Nojus and Batemon who are young and obviously very talented.

That being said, I'd venture to guess that there will be at least one Chatfield-type target, the level of whom probably depends on how Rock has developed. The backcourt situation seems more complicated. I feel like an experienced transfer with PG/CG skills would be useful because it's risky to rely on young guys handling the ball too much (whether that's Batemon/Nojus as combo guards or Moore/Toure, who seem to have more PG skills).

So, if everyone returns, I guess that leaves me with a core rotation of the 5 returning rotation guys, transfer big, transfer PG/CG, and whoever wins out between Nojus and Batemon.

That being said, even last year there were 9 guys who played in 17+ of the 18 Big 12 games. Pav and Watson were obviously limited minutes, and this season their minutes have kind of combined to become Heise's minutes. But it does show that Otz's rotation could expand for spot minutes for those young guys, a transfer, or a non-rotation returner if he thinks it's worthwhile.

Sounds like TJ and Curtis might try for another year. First they are going to concentrate on this year. So we shall see.

Looks like you might be wrong on this one.

On the surface this is true but the NCAA is soft and afraid of litigation. We hear about athletes with seven or eight year seniors. I’d venture to say if he wants to return nobody is going to say he can’t.

If allowed to return, will CJones make more $ at ISU or "going pro?" (An obsolete term.)

Does he have a shot at the NBA or is his future in Europe?

If he was as done as you say, TJ and Curtis would not be discussing it. I think there is a chance he is not done and apparently TJ and Curtis seem to think there is a chance also. So I would trust them more than I trust you. Nothing against you though
