That's convenient. Iowa becoming a women's basketball school primarily is one of the funniest developments in my time as a fan. Like they truly don't care about men's basketball. What a bunch of losers.

The bookend to that is Nebraska is exclusively a volleyball school now. I know legit former Husker football fans who are proud to tell people that.
Turns out in the 90s they actually preferred volleyball to National Championship football, they just never knew it.
And it’s perfectly fine to support these programs. I like watching and supporting ISU WBB too, and am glad there’s been an increase in coverage and interest.
In these two cases, it’s using these as a crutch when you’re not good at the programs you actually want to be good at. And in the case of Hok Fan, anointing themselves gatekeepers of the sport simply because this great generational talent happened to be from Iowa.
It's odd; not a lot of anything leading up to this game. Our lack of success on the road vs Iowa seems to create a weird energy surrounding tonight.
Iowa has essentially won the last couple of games at CHA the same way; hit a bunch of threes early, grab a lead, make Iowa State defend a full shot clock of motion offense the rest of way. I think they're a little more athletic (not necessarily more talented)this year where their press may slow us down.
Hoping we get some easy baskets in the paint early in this game and force also force some early turnovers. Bad taste from previous years at CHA where 3's and free throw's are a sizeable advantage to Iowa, completely tilting the game.

The 3-2 has bothered us a lot more than the 2-3 the past few years. That might be different now with more skilled bigs though...
Funny thing will be the eastern Iowa newspapers after this asskicking. It will all be about the women’s game and they won’t even mention the men’s game
SIAP, but "snuck" isn't really a good word to use for this context. We didn't play well towards the end of the regular season, but we were still a 6 seed. We were never on the bubble or anything.

My plant puts on a big Christmas party every year. There are only a handful of people I care to hangout with outside of work. The rest are kinda intolerable. I'm pretty choosy who I like to booze with. In 18 years, I have never gone.
Now, my neighbors Christmas party is this Saturday, and it's ******* awesome. Like a raging college party except everyone has money and the booze is too notch.
