SIAP, but "snuck" isn't really a good word to use for this context. We didn't play well towards the end of the regular season, but we were still a 6 seed. We were never on the bubble or anything.

Yes I am misremembering. The Pitt team that smoked us had to play in the play in game. It’s the 2018 team that completely imploded but then won the Big 12 tournament.

I wonder if TClone was confusing it w/ 2021-22 season, getting the 11 seed (even that wasn't extreme "bubble danger," although possibly closer than I thought at the time).

Side note: Regarding "didn't play well toward the end," I forgot how rough February was in 2023 -> 2-6.

My wife's company decided to do an impromptu Christmas party at the last minute and picked tonight at 6 to do it . They've only done one Christmas party in the 7 years or so that she has worked there. Got that news right after the Big 12 championship game, which was really the icing on that **** sandwich of a day.

So I'm mostly out here pretending that the game isn't happening.

I’m pretty calm. We might lose, but oh well. We seem to play our worst out there. I also think this Iowa team is better than what some are thinking. Should still win, but hope we don’t see our guys coming out like they’ve never seen a basketball before. That’s what happened 2 years ago.
