CW after the game predictably didn't question the coaching at all. It's all due to injuries.
I think starting 7-0 actually is special by our historical standards. I don’t disagree that losing two in a row is disappointing, and there certainly have been some coaching errors, but being thin at linebacker really probably is a lot of this.Being happy with 6-7 wins is certainly a valid philosophy. But there is no impetus for improvement with this program. If there was, we wouldn’t see the same stubborn bad decisions repeated endlessly. If you’re happy with what you see then you’ll be happy for a long time, but you’ll also never see anything truly special.

Might be dumb but trueCampbell just setting back and counting his money
I am sure did not help, but entire D was bad. Secondary gave up big plays and D line no pressure. 31 in first half sunk ISULinebackers caught up with us today.
Well, that’s probably fair, but by pretty much any measure related to winning, he’s the best we’ve had.Rates of making bowl games are a terr8ble measure of success, as they environment around bowl games has changed a ton over time.

Stop with the “historical standards” nonsense. If you are basing your expectations off a winless season over 30 years ago then you are doing this wrong.I think starting 7-0 actually is special by our historical standards. I’m still not willing to pile on Campbell. He’s our best coach ever. We only have two losing records under him. Seeing that we almost never went to a bowl game before he came, he’s been an enormous success.
I assume you’ve looked at our budget and football salaries compared to other teams, right? I suppose we could try to turn coaching over to AI though. Would at least be an interesting experiment for a tech school…At this level, for the amount of $$ ISU is shelling out, there shouldn’t be coaching errors.

Exactly. And. You can't give a good QB 5-8 sec to throw. This 3 man rush has proven to be limited against good QB's. ie: Oklahoma in the past.Defense giving up pass plays of
70 yards
32 yards
22 yards
24 yards
62 yards
On various TD drives cost us as much of what you listed. 200 yards of passing chunk plays
You don't give up those chunk plays and expect to win
Yes, I agree with that. We have not historically prioritized winning…and the budget showed that.Don't get me wrong, I am not on the 'fire campbell' train by any means when I say this.
But part of this is because ISU has tended to take a lot longer to make coaching moves compared to other places that will roll the dice more quickly. This often leaves the next coach in a deeper hole.
3 down lineman is not cutting it anymore
Yeah. I think any of us at the start of the year would have taken a 7-2 start on a heartbeat. Its just harder because of the hope at 7-0I think starting 7-0 actually is special by our historical standards. I expected what I saw tonight.
Hey Mouse!!! We have this guy named Carsen Hansen, he gets 5 yards a carry and scores TDs. How about not taking him out of the game for a quarter at at time.
It's really not that hard!!
