Root against the other teams at the top, right?

Isn’t that what we want? Root against the other Big 12 teams with one conference loss or fewer. Root for teams above us in the national rankings to lose.

What I want to see is the one loss Big 12 teams lose. Odds are we lose at least one more game. So I'd prefer that Kansas State, Tech, Cinnci and Colorado lose. Honestly, does it matter what BYU does? We have a chance to give Kansas State, Tech, and Cinnci those losses, but it would be good to see them get another one.

It depends. If you believe ISUs only path to the playoff is winning the conference championship then you root for everyone else who could challenge them for a spot in that game to lose. If you believe ISU could possibly get in with a loss in the championship game then you want them to face a really good opponent in that game, like an undefeated BYU.

I think rooting for BYU to run the table and the others at the top to lose is best.

If BYU has to lose, you'd hope that it would come to a bottom tier team. But we need them to get anyone that is good.

It's best case scenario but also unlikely to come to fruition and has us playing with fire if KSU beats us in Ames

It’s crazy anyone would cheer for BYU and KSU to keep winning to better our chances at an at-large for the CFP. Hate to break it to you, but it’s beyond obvious (just listen to any talk show, podcast etc. from the major networks) the Big 12 is NOT getting an at-large barring just everyone else beating each other and having a bunch of 3 to 4 loss teams.

I want us in the Big 12 Championship Game as I view that as our only ticket in. That and I want to win a conference title to get that monkey off our back. So I am cheering for anyone playing BYU, K State, Colorado and Cincinnati right now.

Yes. Getting in CCG and avoiding weird tie breakers is the top goal in this massive conference.

Until it actually happens forget about this matchup of 12-0 or 11-1 teams where they are both playoff locks before CCG.

It could happen but it’s absurd to cheer for that vs just being a full game ahead or more in standings.

No way the conference gets two teams into the playoff without some serious upsets going forward. The media and the committee will view the B12 as weak and not give us any benefit of the doubt. Going forward we have to hope for the following:

SEC gets in UT, Georgia, Tenn and either LSU or Al. 4 total not 5 teams, aTm has to lose to UT and LSU, get to two loses. We also need LSU to beat Alabama. Worse case is aTm and Alabama both beat LSU and both make the playoff. Giving the SEC 5 teams.

B10 gets in 3 teams, Oregon, Ohio State and Penn. State

ACC will get in 2 teams Miami and Clemson, both are ranked higher than any B12 team and both should be undefeated when they meet in the championship game.

ND to lose at least once.

Both BYU and ISU are undefeated and meet in the championship game.

One G5 school gets in either Boise or one of the service academes.

Then it becomes can a 10-2 team from the B10 or SEC jump at 12-1 non champion from the B12. ND if it wins out will get into the playoff, we need USC to beat them.

And I say cheer for Cincy over Colorado. Give the Buffs a second loss and we can give Cincy a second loss later.

I really want to see KSU lose one more. Even if we go 11-0, that game in November could knock us out if they are 10-1. Just too much stress for it to come down to the last game. Furthermore, it may give BYU fans a leg up on getting CCG tickets if they clinch before us.
