Utah doing its best to remove itself from contention once and for all.

Jontez Williams

*Became the fifth Cyclone in program history to have an interception in four-straight games, as his interception sealed the victory on UCF’s final drive.

*First Cyclone with an interception in four-straight games since Ronnie Osborne in 1982.
Little factoid that I’ve always remembered from Ronnie’s recruitment.

He was a second team all state QB in Florida….as a freshman.

First team the other three years.

How’s that for impressive? Not sure I’ve seen that again in the 45 years since. Maybe Lazard, but that was Iowa.

Agree they were caught off guard but a spike there would have been unnecessary. There was still enough time to run two plays. Especially if first was a pass.

Still scratching my head over the earlier spike but all is well that ends well.

Regardless, that was a great play to run with them scrambling on defense.
If we spiked it in that situation, it would have been an all time coaching blunder. The spike a few plays before with an entire minute still left was a mistake that we're lucky didn't cost us. Had they not called PI on the 3rd down it would have been 4th and long. The clock wasn't even a factor at that point deep in their territory.

TBF, after filling in for my son’s flag team today, that time pressure is no joke. Proud of Mouser, especially as he’s taking ownership saying h wants to get better.

Love his energy and vibe.

Where they considered Becht “starting” a slide was ******* criminal, the whole game. If he so much as slowed down, they’re like “yup, started the slide there”. So many lost yards to that crap.
This.

Rocco adjusted, and while he got the yards later, he really took a lot of hits.

All because they really were shorting us on those spots.
