For those of us not watching but following, how bad was the PI on Higgins near the goalie? Did we catch a break?
I think it was legit. At first thought maybe uncarchable but Higgins was clearly held and had no chance to go up and get it

I thought if ISU would have gotten up 21-7 in the 2nd, UCF would have been done.
Yep me too. They were a team that would flame out if down 2+ possessions early but hung around/controlled. We are very fortunate to have walked out with the win.

It was pretty obvious.

I was glad that the back judge was brave enough to call it from 20-30 yards away!

The nearby wing official I don't think saw it, or was at a weird angle.
The view of the closer official was blocked buy Higgins since the contact was on his back

Watching live it looked like the flag came late, but in the replay you can see the official move for his flag as the contact happened

It was a clear PI

What a strange game, ISU had over 100 yards more offense, not sure that UCF drove the ball the entire game, just long runs and INTS.
Sometimes you have to win a game that you should lose, tonight was that game for ISU. We made plenty of mistakes, but stayed in the game and came away with the win.

Fwiw... I do think that ucf was then caught off guard on Roccos scoring run. They were expecting with that formation another spike.
Agree they were caught off guard but a spike there would have been unnecessary. There was still enough time to run two plays. Especially if first was a pass.

Still scratching my head over the earlier spike but all is well that ends well.

Regardless, that was a great play to run with them scrambling on defense.
