Agreed to the first paragraph.

Not so much for the second. These two are only the beginning.

Was going to say this elsewhere, but it took Higgins until the second half last year to really get in a groove. I’m hoping to see Alston, Ngoyi or maybe Overby really blossom sooon.
That's kind of my point though. We have finished products in Higgins and Noel right now. It took Noel three years to round into form. It took Higgins 7-8 games. Next year, we're going to go through growing pains with the young guys even if they have talent. And they aren't going to get many opportunities this year.

Not explosive? What team are you watching? This is the most explosive team we've had since 2020, and they were aided by a weird year.

We have to make hay this year because we aren't going to be able to replace Higgins and Noel. That's one of the best duos in ISU history.
Maybe poor choice of words. Meant slow starting in reference to the offense.

After 5 games the team is what it is. They aren't an explosive team. They take some time to get momentum. But once it gets going down hill they are hard to stop.
We are the 17th best team at plays over 40 yards.

Unsure if mentioned already, but in case he has to shut it down I believe he can still preserve his redshirt at least
Missed the first game, so played four, yes.

Would much prefer he didn’t have to shut it down, though. Indeed, not sure he’ll make it four years. The NFL likes big, fast linebackers.

They have seven plus more games to get those growing pains out of the way this year. Toss Eli Green into that same mix.

I know they mentioned on the broadcast Rocco switched shoulder pads. Could that have made that big of a difference? He looked very crisp yesterday aside from the interception when he was trying to throw it away

I know Travis started at LT. Did Neal play guard, or did they play Barrett?

Atmosphere was A++ last night. Also upped their game for in between plays and time outs with the various movie clips. Hope the 3rd down, anchorman can I have your attention, loud noises clip is here to stay!

Nice to hear. Hopefully we do more things like this. In the Arky game before a key moment in the 4th they played part of Stone Cold's theme music.

I thought he looked a lot better right from the start last night. I know the takeaway is going to be another slow start/slow 1st half. But I think the offense was actually pretty good in the first half yesterday.

Obviously you want more points early, but as far as execution goes, much better than @ Houston

We're trying to win the Big 12. They aren't going to get snaps when we have two of the best receivers in the country, and they shouldn't. Noel and Higgins were getting starter snaps before they completed their development. Thsi ain't the time to throw freshmen receivers into the mix. There are only so many series, and we already use more TEs than almost anyone in the country. Yours is wishful thinking. This isn't a video game.
