That's kind of my point though. We have finished products in Higgins and Noel right now. It took Noel three years to round into form. It took Higgins 7-8 games. Next year, we're going to go through growing pains with the young guys even if they have talent. And they aren't going to get many opportunities this year.
Be really nice to get a stud wide receiver via the transfer portal.

We're trying to win the Big 12. They aren't going to get snaps when we have two of the best receivers in the country, and they shouldn't. Noel and Higgins were getting starter snaps before they completed their development. Thsi ain't the time to throw freshmen receivers into the mix. There are only so many series, and we already use more TEs than almost anyone in the country. Yours is wishful thinking. This isn't a video game.
That’s just dumb.

Not even including the fact that Alston and Green aren’t freshmen.

Diversifying the offense creates other threats that the defense has to honor. Since you clearly didn’t notice, Higgins and Noel are already spending a lot of time doubled.

There is nothing dumb about it being likely we have a drop off from one of the best WR duos in school history. Particularly in the NIL era. As Blum says, enjoy this season, one in which proven talent passed on leaving for a lot of money.

Although nearly every CMC team has had very good skill position talent, NFL level, this one has everything needed to be the best offense in school history imo. I hope we see improvement as the season goes on.

The only thing we don’t have is the dual-threat at QB, although Rocco is not a statue

So you want us to throw WR in there that don't need to be doubled? Lol. We have Brahmer as another option, and we're using three RBs and three TEs. We're also not struggling to get Higgins and Noel the ball.

You don't take two excellent WRs off the field to throw inexperienced guys into the game. We are trying to win now. It's not complicated.

You're going to be really disappointed if you think the guys behind Noel and Higgins are going to replicate their performances next season, with or without snaps this year. But hey, if you want to sacrifice our best opportunity for a conference championship to prepare for next year, go for it.

I thought he looked a lot better right from the start last night. I know the takeaway is going to be another slow start/slow 1st half. But I think the offense was actually pretty good in the first half yesterday.
The last couple of games Becht has started slow and then picked it up the 2nd half, last night, he was solid all night, had very few high throws that were uncatchable. We need him to continue to play like he did last night the rest of the season.

One game at a time, we locked down on defense after the first quarter, still wish we would come out and blitz and pressure the QB more early in the game. But really picked it up as the game went on.

And I’ve been on boycott ever since. Solidarity!

It is not just Pepperidge Farms. Burger King remembers:

Right. It wasn't near perfect. But I thought Rocco looked fairly sharp.
Baylor didn't have the defensive backs to make Rocco pay for it, but he does stare down receivers often. But that's about the only thing you can even complain about last night.

Pretty sure practice is rarely if ever full on tackling especially this far into the season and 1/2s face scout teams, not one another.

Since the offense doesn't have the injury bug I'm chalking it up to bad luck. Like Orange's injury was a weird pile up.

Benzina (SP?) looked like something tweaked when he was in pursuit without contact.
OK. Yeah, I remember that.

People who have been around longer than me, is heacock the best coordinator we have ever had by a long shot? Seems that way to me I just expect us to give up 7 or less 2nd half points amost every game like clockwork.
In my time (earliesh 90's onwards) he's definitely the best DC we've had IMO. And he very well could be the best overall coordinator as well.

He came up with an alignment that really works for us. It's been copied and emulated by lots of other teams. And his half-time adjustments are legendary.

Hell yeah. Keep winning and I like our chances of that to happen again.
Honestly if Rocco stays and plays another year, which I have no reason to think he won’t, there are going to be a lot of high caliber players that will want to play with him imo

Hard to replace Higgins and Noel, but for example Jaylon Jackson came from Eastern Michigan. In addition to young talent you already have, there's good ball players a level below you can use to backfill.
