They kind of already were but IE is flat out kneecapping KXNO in terms of local content.
I have no inside info, but Murph and Andy was the only show that survived the layoffs a few years ago, and I'm guessing those two were a big reason why the layoffs ultimately did not happen.

I think its only a matter of time before KXNO is fully nationally syndicated shows.

M you talk about the games that were just played, F you preview tomorrow’s games. What kind of a content are you serving up on W?

Tuesday night's CFP rankings (later in the season)
Weekly press conferences/media availability
Other wide-scale news
Thursday/Friday night games

I'm starting to think that KXNO went statewide because they knew this was coming.
Williams was on Miller and Condon this past Friday and said that he sent an email up the chain after that big layoff a few years back telling them to push to go statewide and capitalize on making it the "Iowa Sports Network" rather than "Des Moines Sports Network".

Taking his advice once he's a competitor doing the same thing. Gold.

That's kind of my exact question. Are they making the same at IE as they did at KXNO? 80%? Or what? Do they own a piece of IE? Does Hassel? That sort of stuff. You and me are both just guessing. Nothing but idle curiosity from me. And a lot of respect for CW sticking his neck out with this after seeing the belly of the iHeart beast up close and realizing he could do it better.

I am pretty certain they’ve said on 2 Guys (who must have gotten a C&D on the “named Chris” part) that Hassel is a part-owner. No idea how that works for the rest of the shows.

I'm pretty sure CW and Hassel have said on their show that the two of them co-own IE

Outside of Miller & Condon KXNO has become the JV compared to IE
The Drive with Heather and Sean now being 4 hours long is even more unbearable to listen to than before. I can't even stand to listen to it anymore it is so full of fluff to fill the time. Usually I at least give The Morning Rush and The Drive a shot when I get in the car and if the conversation is bad I am quick to change the channel these days instead of put myself through the pain of listening to the rambles go on way longer than they should.

Anyone remember the days we used to complain about Cotlar in the morning then whoever Miller was paired with in the afternoon wheter it was Marty, Perrault, or Jim Brinson? Man I would kill to have thsoe shows back (with the exception of Marty) as at least they talked sports for a good part of the time and had solid guest lineups to fill the time with mostly sports related topics. The morning show is basically shock jock radio most of the time with Travis going down paths to get reactions and I don't even know what The Drive is anymore as it's basically Heather reading random tweets or coming up with some random Top 5 list to fill air time while they mumble on about the latest current events and maybe have 5-0 check in to kill a few more minutes of time.

Count me in. Murph and Andy without FCC and iheart censorship will be awesome!

Presumably also without the trappings of a daily multi hour show as well, like guess who's birthday.

I didn't hate the segment but frankly you can only play that game for so long before you have to reuse birthdays.

Agree, I stopped listening when sports became the sideshow.

Out of market, so I had no idea they were 4 hours now. That's rough. Chris and Ross weren't always able to get 3 hours of content, and they were far better prepared, and just better at their jobs overall.

If I recall, they were going to have regionally syndicated shows to replace the old shows. Now it seems like Iowa Sports Radio Network are those regionally syndicated shows.
