Should get good ratings along with 2GNC. All their other shows are specifically geared towards Iowa or ISU so they aren’t going to get the ratings the dual shows do.
If they can make the same money off a weekly show vs a daily show, why wouldn't they want the flexibility and freedom?
Iowa Everywhere recruits advertisers the same way that KXNO does, they just aren't trying to fill all these hours of radio air time. My guess is Murph and Andy have their own advertisers and they get a cut of that.
By having a weekly show, they can just do this as a hobby too.
With podcast apps and carplay, I consume most radio via podcast anyway, so I do think they're onto something here. Hell, I even listen to most KXNO shows in podcast form on delay.
I suppose dominating is a strong word for me to use. I guess it seems they've created both Hawkeye and Cyclone based shows, Two Guys, etc and other types of shows that are broad and i'd imagine get enough viewership to justify keeping them around/people on payroll.
Same....i posted a similar thought. It is really cool how someone like CW can now build a company (tech wise, etc) where like 10 years ago the tech wasn't there and literally you don't have access to airwaves, etc...unless you bought time on MC22.
That's kind of my exact question. Are they making the same at IE as they did at KXNO? 80%? Or what? Do they own a piece of IE? Does Hassel? That sort of stuff. You and me are both just guessing. Nothing but idle curiosity from me. And a lot of respect for CW sticking his neck out with this after seeing the belly of the iHeart beast up close and realizing he could do it better.

I was going to reply to one of the above posters that for Murph and Andy a weekly show didn't make a ton of sense, particularly during football season.

The fact that he's in that ad makes me think he does. They didn't have any of the other hosts or personalities.
I would assume it will be Aidan. That's a lot of time for a guy with a full time job. I'd imagine Downs will fill in like he does now with IE, but it would definitely surprise me if he's the permanent producer.
I’d guess the same, but I’d also guess (with some confidence) that Two Guys absolutely dwarfs all of their other content in terms of listeners, so maybe it’s related to that or that Hassel has worked with M&A.
id imagine hassle/fales/murph (especially the latter 2) get paid handsomely with their full-time jobs and more or less do the side gigs because they enjoy it more than the money that comes with it.
