Gilbert seems to almost shoot the 3 better when defended and pressured or in a moment where he's forced to shoot it. With Tre it's when he's wide open that it seems like a great shot to take. Tre's 3s last night looked really pure...also just need more 3 point shooters named Tre.
We have a pretty good dataset for conference play now - and in conference only games, 5 different players have taken 30+ threes. Here's the current conference game percentages:

Gilbert - 39%
King - 37%
Jones - 36%
Milan - 29%
Lipsey - 25%

Tre was 1-6 from deep in the non-conf, and is 11-30 in conference play. Even more impressively, he's 8-13 in games against Top 10 opponents.

Oh and Keshon has 62 rebounds in conference play, besting King by 1 to lead the team.

To only lose by 8 when Tamin had an off night and Shead was on fire is not a bad outcome. Think that we could beat them in KC if we play again. Strong sign that our team is for real when we can compete with the top of the entire NCAA while on the road and not shooting well.

The great part of those three becoming a serious threat from outside is that it should help take the heat off of Milan and help boost him back up. He's a silky smooth shooter, but has just been keyed on during conference play so far.

I don't think the officials cost us the game but, for a good crew, they were inconsistent all night. Let them play for a stretch, then call every bump for the next stretch and back and forth it went

Tough to play in a game like that

Maybe he can play reduced minutes Saturday. In theory that works but who knows how we come out for that game.
I'd say best case scenario is you throttle them and then you can rest him that way.

Missed free throws killed momentum last night. Had opportunities to cut to one possession and couldn’t.

The missed push off call on Shead against Lipsey turned it from down 4 with the ball (and one foul closer to double bonus) to down 7.

Rob’s miss to cut it to 6 turned into a transition 3 which made it 11.

Couple of those go our way (some us, some officiating) and who knows what happens.
That one was bad, Lipsey flew about 10 ft and no call, then he drains a three.

I'm glad that the next game is WVU at home and there's a little more rest because of the Monday game. A lot of guys looked sore towards the end of that game, Lipsey and BRE more than anybody. Hopefully they stay focused and can jump on WVU and some of the starters can get some well-deserved rest.

Agree really hoping we can get out to a good lead and rest Lipsey some on Saturday. I'm pretty sure he is a gamer and doesn't want to sit though.

Looking forward to a possible rematch with Houston in KC, i wonder if we would try something different defensively and throw Gilbert at Shead?

Was C. Jones on him much the other night? I would think that might help.

Just over a million viewers for this game. Thought it might be even more than that:

Pretty good. Would put it as the 8th most watched mens CBB game this year

What a narcissistic *******

Come on @ZRF you chicken **** coward. Tired of getting carved up for your idiotic takes on your board?

Pathetic.

Here is an example of an unprompted personal attack.

But, to answer your question, I can't respond or post when I'm being reported by the same 10 people who consistently dislike my posts. I would think it would be much easier for you and the other 9 to just put me on ignore.

Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Did you also create an account on a Houston board during the game to rip on the team?

Did that help you?

For someone who doesn't appear to my posts/me/whatever you do seem to have an odd fascination with me. Weird, but whatever I guess.

I created an account to ask questions about the arena/area as I was going to the game.

I'm not the one who posted what you posted from the Houston site.

The alternative reality that you've created for the players and coaches that you showcase on here is fascinating for sure.

I hope reposting pictures of when Zac goes to opponent's message boards to suck up and tell them what we're bad at doesn't stop, I like it.

I never said I didn't post it. You insinuated I created an account just to post "negative" stuff on that board which isn't even remotely true. If you had bothered to look the first post was about tickets/exchanges/parking/recs.

Perish the thought of posting a basketball post on your upcoming opponent's message board. One which was factually accurate by the way (metrically we are/were NOT a good defensive rebounding team).

Since you only like to focus on my negative posts, chew on this. The rebounding performance at Houston was probably our best rebounding performance of the SEASON. To go into Houston, against a great rebounding team, and do what we did on the glass was outstanding. I didn't see it coming. If we can (somewhat) replicate that going forward it bodes well for our future performance.
