They've played 10 conference games, 8 against ranked opponents.
They have lost in big 12 play by 1,3,4,5,4,5 to teams ranked #25, 14, 15, 7, unranked, 5 and they have three wins over ranked teams including two on the road.
At best, we can hope for a nailbiter based on the above.
After us, they play 6 unranked big 12 squads and Houston.
Thanks for the the detail here. Yeah, kind of my thoughts as well. UC is a very good team. We will have to play at our best and will be fortunate to win.

There are no easy games in the B12.

Go Cyclones!

I really don’t have a good feeling with this game. Cincy has to win this game to keep tourney hopes alive, I think Cincy pulls it out 67-62.

I agree with this assessment. Taking Cincy and the under.

If Cincy doesn't win this game, I think they will have a tough time finishing 9-9 and making the tournament. We are going to get their very best shot tonight.

They are currently 4-7 in the first two quadrants. Zero good out of conference wins. Very bubbly.

Indeed. Currently first four out.

This is a classic must-win at home with the bulk of their big opportunities behind them, except for @ Houston, which is unlikely.

Resume aside, currently sitting at 11th in the standings is working against them, too. # of bids becomes a factor at a certain point, even though it shouldn't. We've seen it work against the big 12 time and time again.

With Cincy's long history of physical play, it's something to have someone say we'll be the most physical team they've played. Probably not wrong, but it's something.
Those 90's teams with Huggins coaching were ballers. Guys like Van Exel, Blount, Fortson, Durden, Martin.

When I first saw a Huggins-coached team in March Madness, they always looked like a team you wouldn't want to see in a street fight. It's kinda nice to be the tougher team for a change.

Yeah, if a bruise was a basketball team, it would be Huggins' Cincinnati teams.

This is currently a Q1a game for the Cyclones.
Really amazing how many good teams in the B12, that are beating each up up record-wise. TCU, UC, BYU, UCF, Texas, would all have much better records in another conference. Not to say OU and Kansas also.

I'm really hoping we can get at least 9 teams in the Dance this year? We deserve it. My fear is that we only get 7 or 8.

If that’s the case, if the game gets tight late in the game and he’s still out there playing…. put in Keldermann or Hawley or Omaha to just foul him everytime down the court.
His name is Aziz Bandaogo. He's really long and is a great shot blocker and offensive rebounder.

But even their own fans acknowledge he has basically no offensive skill whatsoever beyond dunking the ball. I watched him brick several bunnies and free throws.

Bad feeling about this one. Predicting a close, low scoring game where we come up just short.

Luckily, we will be absolutely fine even with a loss.

Doesn't he weigh about 15 pounds, too? Seems like a physical team like ours might give him a lot of trouble.

He's listed at 225, same as Jones and King and 25 pounds more than Ward (for whatever listed weights are worth)

Adding: nevermind - BRE is listed at 255 on cyclones.com, but 225 on sports-reference. Bandaogo is listed at 235 on the Bearcats website

Jones is listed at 255 this year, per Cyclones.com. I've heard this number used on broadcasts this year too. Ward and King listed at 230. Like you mentioned listed weights are iffy, but I don't necessarily see any obvious exaggerations with any of those numbers. They are all older guys who have had plenty of time to add weight IMO.

Lots of outside sources are not up-to-date on those figures.
