Regarding Tang's comments on said official, there is nothing wrong with an official saying to a player, "If you continue to play that way, you're going to foul out of this game." That is not chirping. That is trying to manage a game.
I think you might have a better option against the Wichita paper and KC Star. They ran a story with the accusations from "sources". Did they vet the source or confirm with a different source?
This isn't a coaching search story were you use one source on a rumor. You're writing about someone cheating which can be a damaging statement.
Message boards and Internet rumors are one thing but when a media group runs a story, that's a whole other ballgame.
Even the Ames Tribune gets double digit sources before they run a story.
Public figures have an enormous bar to clear in order to win defamation cases. Newspapers are also provided with significant first amendment protections when it comes to libel. The only outcome here is significant legal expenses for the university (and everyone from ISU involved here is well aware)

Let me get this straight, "good guy" Jerome Tang, who has openly discussed his disdain for cussing, has an assistant coach who sits on the bench and travels with the team and cusses at random fans, managers and cheerleaders? This is the story in all of this.
Still waiting for anti-cuss Tang's comments regarding his assistant's flagrant cussing at our managers.

My understanding is that they had a guy midcourt observing the Iowa State timeouts all during the game. I was not there to verify this but saw I picture posted.
