Ya now that we’re in season 3 I’m starting to think the scheme may need some blame for offensive issues opposed to just lack of talent we claimed the previous 2 years .

I'll take being down 10, that's as good of an offensive half as you will see all year folks. Hit tough shots, got every rebounding bounce in the world and capitalized. We will see if the basketball gods even it out in the second half
40 points for a team that stresses defense is not good, too much over helping on plays where help isn’t needed, slow on backside rotations, the traps are not bad you want to overload but the rotations need to be right on par if you are going to run that defense. Which we do not have the rotation reaction

Anyway, VT is taking advantage of our help scheme to get open threes and just nailing them. Going to have to make some adjustments to make that harder. I think some of those cross court passes are ripe to be stolen if we're not sagged down too much and have our eyes up.

At the 10 minute mark we had them in foul trouble with 6 and we stopped attacking. Need to make the shooters play defense.

We have shooters. We just aren’t making the extra pass like we need too
they can't miss because they are getting good looks. Their spacing is good and they are patient. They wait off the double team and move the ball fast enough to create open looks before our rotations can get there. They have us well scouted at this point, we are getting out coached and out played. Let's hope we can make some adjustments at half.

Momcilovic can shoot. Tamin, Gilbert, and C Jones can shoot. They just can’t get it done today.
Idk why we’re having guards crash the middle against this specific team, which is basically 3s only. Gotta let them have some paint access and depend on our bigs to rim protect and let our perimeter players stay home
Halftime thoughts:
1) VT offense is all about shooting the three. If they miss, it will usually lead to long rebounds, which is an advantage to the offense. Easier said than done to adjust the defense
2) the offense seemed rushed at times.
3) I think the team will settle down if they get a couple live ball turnovers that lead to easy points

If we end up losing we end up losing. This team is going to take its lumps. We got the W last night which at least guaranteed we would get to play good opponents for an opportunity to get big victories. We either get FAU if we win or A&M if we lose. Both good chances to pick up huge wins.
