I'm getting behind. Nice problem to have. I never mind replaying game wins! Even this is OK.
I am not offended with your opinions here (as so many seem to be). I do think you’re a bit “off” with your evaluation of C. Jones’ shot selection; I think maybe a couple were “sort of not awesome” shot selection (all 3 games), but generally, I am not seeing any of his shots that the staff isn’t comfortable with. He is a volume shooter. That is absolutely what the staff expects/demands out of him. So just warning you; you WILL continue to see him shoot the exact same shots he is shooting. He’ll remind a bit at times of a Naz Long - capable of going 1-12 one game and 6-7 the next. The amount of people who struggle with reading comprehension on here is alarming.
Can you please read and THINK about what I actually posted/said. I said C Jones offense has been concerning and it has been. He is 5/18 from 3 this year, and that's largely because of poor shot selection. He's jacked up soon many forced 3s that it's hardly surprising his percentage is putrid. Even today he was 2-6 from 3, with one make (the first) coming on terrible shot selection while the 2nd (the one at the end of the game) coming on a really good shot.
If he wants to turn it around its likely he will need to take better shots. Lipsey shot poorly today but the difference is almost all of his shots were good decisions. Some days they just don't fall. But if you keep taking bad shots, and a bevy of them like C Jones has, the odds of that changing are poor. So yeah, sorry if I find that aspect of his game (thus far) to be disappointing.
I've never said anything about his effort od defensive abilities. That's been fine. You'd have to be Mr Magoo or ignorant if you think Jones has been a solid offensive contributor this year. Bad shots lead to wasted possessions. That's NEVER a good thing.
Moreover, he's one of only two volume shooters on the team, along with Milan (unless Pav is going to play a lot more) They need to combine for 10-12 3-pt attempts per game, just to open up the defense. While Gilbert and Lipsey (this year) have the capability of shooting from deep, they are drive-first players, they'll never be volume shooters.I am not offended with your opinions here (as so many seem to be). I think the rest of his game (offensively) has been solid, showing a solid ability to shoot off the dribble, and finish at the rim on the break. I do not think he’s been “great“ offensively, but as an overall evaluation - he’s been solid for the most part. I do expect/hope for him to improve his efficiency, because we really need him as that scoring punch/playmaker off the bench, especially as the competition ramps up.
Keeping up with the Joneses. The name has a curse.ZRF has moved on to another Jones.
Did you do the graphic? Pretty slick if you did.Yes, and no. When there are definitely other players on the team who can shoot, and there's time on the shot clock, a player doesn't always have to chunk up a miss. S/he/they can pass off.
Pourcyne sez :
Complaining about Curtis Jones is dumber than complaining about Omaha.
9/5/4 with 5 steals and only 1 TO Thursday and 14/3/2 with a steal and 0 TOs today. Along with really good defense and ball handling.
Some people really need to learn more about the game of basketball. It’s more than shooting percentage.
Milan is obviously a bust, missed what, 2 shots in a row? Can’t be having that.

Probably time to send him to Serbia, Croatia, or anywhere who wants a dude who misses some shots.
Might be time to get rid of some players before conference season to get ready for the future.
I'm at halftime right now. No one seems to be scoring. I'd start by cutting some folks who'd rather sit down than play.
Are you saying cut players mid-game?
I think that's a good way for the staff to make adjustments.
Thank you Wesley!
Thank you Wesley!
I suggest you always open a new thread. Your pics deserve it!
Question: Why do some of the players have a cardinal waistband, and some have black? These look like the same old unis, except for the waistband. Yes or No?
And RIP, Dedric! Sorry to see you go so soon.![]()
Flight tracking showed that they landed in Ames around 4:30 AM. They and some other staff took an earlier charter home. Team plane landed in DSM at 6 AMKudos to John and Eric for doing this game! I wonder when they got in and how much sleep they got?

So, I wonder if we'll be getting new BB unis next year then? The red is the normal waistband. The black is when the players roll it over so the inside of the waistband is facing out.
