Herky jerky foul plagued with cold shooting and a scrappy opponent and still found a way to manufacture 86 points and a 31 point win.

Good time for a week off to hopefully get Tre’s ankle healed.

Completely forgettable game with some high and low points. For me the play down low (Ward, King, and BRE) and Gilbert's 2nd half were the highs for me. Most concerning were the fouls, defensive rotations (sloppy with poor communication), and block outs.

With that said it shows how much better/more talented we are than last year when we can play (relatively) sloppy and poorly yet win by 30+ while putting up 86 points. Our teams of the last few years wouldn't have been able to come close to doing that.

He's talking about C. Jones. Not Omaha.
Complaining about Curtis Jones is dumber than complaining about Omaha.

9/5/4 with 5 steals and only 1 TO Thursday and 14/3/2 with a steal and 0 TOs today. Along with really good defense and ball handling.

Some people really need to learn more about the game of basketball. It’s more than shooting percentage.

3rd game in 6 days. I think it showed on the sloppy play. Tired legs, more reaching.

There is a select portion of frequent posters on these forums that don’t know $hit about sports. But boy do they think they do lol

Yes, and no. When there are definitely other players on the team who can shoot, and there's time on the shot clock, a player doesn't always have to chunk up a miss. S/he/they can pass off.

The amount of people who struggle with reading comprehension on here is alarming.

Can you please read and THINK about what I actually posted/said. I said C Jones offense has been concerning and it has been. He is 5/18 from 3 this year, and that's largely because of poor shot selection. He's jacked up soon many forced 3s that it's hardly surprising his percentage is putrid. Even today he was 2-6 from 3, with one make (the first) coming on terrible shot selection while the 2nd (the one at the end of the game) coming on a really good shot.

If he wants to turn it around its likely he will need to take better shots. Lipsey shot poorly today but the difference is almost all of his shots were good decisions. Some days they just don't fall. But if you keep taking bad shots, and a bevy of them like C Jones has, the odds of that changing are poor. So yeah, sorry if I find that aspect of his game (thus far) to be disappointing.

I've never said anything about his effort od defensive abilities. That's been fine. You'd have to be Mr Magoo or ignorant if you think Jones has been a solid offensive contributor this year. Bad shots lead to wasted possessions. That's NEVER a good thing.

I don’t think C Jones has had bad shot selection or has been “chucking it” in any of the 3 games. Just wasn’t hitting. Although he went from 0-5 from 3 to 1-6 and now 2-6 so maybe it’s coming around for him. If he does hit 33% from 3 with all the other things he does, he’s going to be a solid contributor.

Today has some kinks, and I'm glad. That's what preseason is for. Gives them things to work on and get ready for Thanksgiving! Hope Tre is okay!

I fail to see the difference between CHUNKING (my word) up a miss and not hitting.

Splain it to me, Lucy.

I think that C. Jones is definitely trying to shoot himself out of a slump. But I would not say that his shot selection has been especially awful. I think he's been taking shots that most fans would generally be fine with a good shooter taking. I'd say that his typical shot difficulty has been lower than Momcilovic's (which is fine, since MM might be the best shooter in the Big 12), but I think it's even been lower than Grill's was last season. Jones hasn't been making them, but based on his previous shooting on high volume and TJ's comments about him, I still think he's a good shooter and expect he will start making them sooner rather than later (maybe that started today).

Watson's gonna be one of those guys who doesn't have great stats, but is always in in critical situations because he makes winning plays
His offense is still a work in progress, but his defense is +++ already. He's so long, quick and explosive it seems like he gets a hand on every pass when he's out there. When he and Ward trap somebody, they're done.
