after reading more details of the incident (BAC and empty containers in the car), it is obvious that he has a serious problem. He needs some serious help and losing his HC job might be what he needs to turn his life around. Sadly, the issue has probably gone on for way too long. I'm sure people around him were noticing the problem but it is not easy to call someone out on it or intervene. It is not easy to do with a friend, family member or coworker let alone someone as intimidating as Huggins.

Just talked to some of my K-State sources, his problems have been going on a very long time. It sounds like people higher up have been willing to look the other way though due to his reputation with players and his winning.

I think Huggy genuinely cared for his players. Sad way to end his career.

I talked to a former walk-on to the WVU MBB team at a football game in Morgantown next to me for a long time a couple of years ago. You could tell he was still in awe of Huggins.

His players love, revere, and sometimes fear him like you would a father.

Nobody's going to work you harder but nobody loves you more.

Timely. I had this pop up this morning. That would be a helluva drinking competition between Huggy and Boggs.

Frankly, if he really isn't an alcoholic (as she claims), I think that would make it even worse because it would mean that he should have been able to stop drinking and instead chose not to. And he blew a .210, I don't think it really matters whether the cans in the car were his empties or if he just collected them to recycle.

I mean maybe there are shades of validity in there (Huggins' generosity, etc) but just shut up. It really doesn't matter if Huggins is an alcoholic or not. What matters is that he did something insanely risky that he absolutely knew he was in no condition to be doing.

If he's an alcoholic, that's far less embarrassing than the decision he made to drive in that condition.

And like, it omits the context that he was already on thin ice after his comments just a couple months ago. He knew he was on probation. He ****** up. Even if the DUI alone wasn't enough to get him fired, he was definitely fired when both were taken to account.

As far as the cans, even if he does collect cans, is she telling us that he drives around all the time with these bags of cans, including to things like recruiting trips? This seems like just a lie Bob told people and people who don't want to believe Bob is an alcoholic accepted the lie.

You guys forgot to google how hot Bob Huggins daughter is before reading her statement. I’m on her side . She looks very believable. No way is he an alcoholic. I also don’t believe what they accused him of saying on the podcast. Quit hating on his delusional daughter. She is sticking up for her dad.

In addition to what others have said, if Bob's not an alcoholic, why is he offering to go to rehab? That just makes things even worse, because he shows he isn't taking this seriously and is just saying things to save his job.

I imagine Huggins did offer to go to rehab and I think he probably has a problem with alcohol. But that statement definitely doesn't help him like his daughter thinks it does

Agree. The “he’s not alcoholic just has a serious drinking problem” defense doesn’t really cut it. And what did she mean “like 90% of us”? 90% of people in West Virginia?
