Huggins made like triple Gregs salary. I can think of a few million reasons to try out the big 12 again.
Don't confuse salary vs compensation. Salary is normally a small chunk of the compensation package and coaches are also getting media fees, appearance fees, etc.

Except the rumor is he hates the AD
Not even a rumor. They hate each other.

Mac looked at Ohio State when they hired Holtman and he recruits nationally at this point so it wouldn't shock me if he took a look if West Virginia is really doing a full search.

WVU has one of their most epic transfer classes in history, then Huggins throws it all down the drain with his drinking problem. Unreal. Dude still has an alcohol problem and clearly needs help.

Huggins not only has a probable drinking problem, he's clearly used to being able to do what he wants with nothing but green lights for years. Very common with people who get elevated to local legend status.

To paraphrase Williams and Blum, he clearly hasn't had a "no" guy in his inner circle in a long time. And this is what that leads to.

Makes you wonder about the circumstances surrounding that long time assistant getting canned in the middle of the season. Have to wonder if maybe he tried to speak up and got fired because of it.

I know my brother saw him at West Towne Pub until the wee hours the night before a game a few years back. Being that public of a figure and being out that late drinking would certainly speak to what you've described above about having nothing but green lights.

McD chased a bigger job early at Iowa State from UNI. At this point I think he only leaves Creighton if they force him out. He has too good of a thing going.

When you read the details of his interaction with the officers, it just seems miraculous that no one was injured or killed.

And when he’s winning games, not making an ass of himself, and having someone else drive it doesn’t seem like it’s really a problem.

Now that he’s on a run of making really offensive and stupid comments in a very public/recorded setting, and about as bad of an OWI as you can get without hurting someone, it’s all clearly spiraled out of control.

Let's see, he's already getting counseling regarding his homophobic comments, so they'll have to schedule around that.
Clearly he couldn't free up enough time on his calendar.

Wonder if Huggy was hammered when he made the reference to Catholics in May during the radio show he was on?
Based on the supposed bags of empty cans in his car, I'm guessing there weren't many times he wasn't wasted.
