I love Huggins. He is from the bones of West Virginia, but WVU cant keep him now. Just too much too soon on the heels of a radio gaff that makes one wonder if he's getting early-stage dementia.

The only question now is how much it costs to lure mazula home. Celtics have deep pockets too, but im not sure they want a bidding war with WVU.

After seeing how bad he was as a nba coach Boston would probably gladly let him go.

Would think driving a University vehicle under the influence would be immediately subject to dismissal; but it is West Virginia! No more of that damn stool with 300 lbs. on it marring our floor!

The coach of the Mountaineers
Had a few too many beers
And then ol' Coach Huggy
Hopped into the ol' buggy
A tire then blew
And he did the Mark Few
Having also derided gays
He'll be toast within days

I see the Morgantown PD is honest like the Iowa Gaming Commission. I support it but these types of things don’t happen in Alabama.

Maybe if he was in Morgantown it might've gotten swept under the rug, but he wasn't going to get special treatment in Pittsburgh

Doesn’t rhyme, but I added a line.

Yeah, .21 is just a touch more than a little over...

Not only that, but that 0.21 test came after they took him into custody and transported him to the PD. All of that, including the time they took at the scene to talk with him and do field sobriety tests, and it was probably at least 45-60 minutes from when they first made contact with him to when they tested him. He was probably over 0.25 and maybe even near 0.30 when he was actually driving the vehicle.

Not necessarily. The article I read said there were empties in the car. If he crushed a few right before he got stopped, his BAC would be rising.

Still bad regardless. I think WVU has no choice but to let him go at this point.

The garbage bag of empties also says this wasnt a 'got too drunk at the bar and made a mistake' kind of thing and more a 'he drives around while drinking regularly' thing.

Ya know, karma. Some dudes and gals that are old school and still think this crap is OK just need to retire before they really F up. Nearly 3 times legal limit and dropping the fag word on a recorded program are so the 80s.

Maybe I'm naïve but I don't know how he survives this with his job.

Yeah; if it was either this OR the homophobia incident I think he might survive, but I don't think he can or should with both of them happening so relatively close together.

If I'm the WVU AD I think you have to let him go, name the top assistant the next head coach on an interim basis (for nothing else to keep their incoming transfers) and then try and strike gold the next offseason.

At this point, the transfers can't transfer again and play this year unless I am missing an asterisk on the transfer portal. For example, CBF just got a transfer for the women's team but because she entered the portal late, she has to sit out.

So, these guys are best off playing this year regardless of who the coach is, then try to get their degrees finished if they want to transfer again

I think there is a better than 50/50 chance that WV forces Huggins into retirement. The degree to which he was over the limit, his previous DUI, and his recent homophobic comments provides the administration plenty to reasons to go thought route if they choose.
