Gonna be a huge party at Water Works!

Des Moines will hold the biggest party of the week, Phippen promised. RAGBRAI this year will book and pay for musical acts in overnight towns, a responsibility that usually falls to the towns. Without revealing who, he said RAGBRAI has spent “a significant amount of money” to book a nationally known performer to play in Des Moines.

Does Ragbrai cap the number day passes? I realize people just join along the way without being registered.

Day 1,5&6 will suck with all that climb. Ames to Des Moines by far the easiest day and should easily set the all time attendance record. We’ll probably do day 3&4 so we can do the loop at JT again and be part of a Guinness world record.

It’s crazy they were talking about the end of RAGRAI just a few years ago.

Any predictions about the RAGBRAI route before it is announced tonight? I heard a rumor that they might try to repeat the original route for the 50th year. And that would mean going through Ames again. :)
I hear they're going to turn it around this year and go east to west into 30 mile an hour winds the whole way, just for the fun of it.
