Chesney sells out football stadiums everywhere. If don’t think he’s a HUGE draw, it’s just your bias showing. I’m not a big fan of him but admit he’s one of the biggest names out there.
Yep my thoughts with both artists.

Years ago Hairball played in one of the overnights and that was a blast.

Styx played in Ames in 08.

I don’t follow country so I don’t doubt it, just think they both fit Iowa perfectly. Many will love it but I’m not interested at all.

Does Ragbrai cap the number day passes? I realize people just join along the way without being registered.
Well they want to set a single route number of riders record on the Ames to Des Moines leg so that day I would think they want people to cross both the official start and stop points for the day. If they get the 100,000 number I saw tossed about that'll be a crazy day. But yes the actual day pass number is capped.

Cheap Trick was in Coralville last time around IIRC. That would be the kind of act that I’d be looking for in Des Moines and Iowa City. Something that gets played on 100.3 The Bus.

Wife and I are first timers and registered for the Ames to Des Moines. Sure hope the weather is decent the whole week for those doing the entire ride.

Curious and just too lazy to look it up. What is the.benefit of registering? Especially if you’re just doing a couple days.

Sag wagon is legal then I don't think they would leave anyone that needed help with out help though. (my guess no 1st hand knowledge) though all I've ever done is pirate ride ragbrai

Nowhere and Everywhere
Is SAG Wagon the extent of the resources?
It takes money to put on RAGBRAI. Permit fees, road closures, highway patrol, insurance, EMT, sag wagon, etc.

Without people paying registration fees it wouldn’t happen. So if working with the state, counties, towns to close down roads, divert traffic etc isn’t considered a resource that you benefit from I don’t know what is.

Usually the entertainment is behind a fence and only for official Ragbrai riders.
08 Ames it was free to see Styx with a RAGBRAI wristband, if you didn't have one it was maybe 10 bucks. Styx donated all the money to Ames.
