Idea: Moving In-State Rivals Forum

Hawk fan postings should be limited to the In State Rivals threads. All other attempts should directly link them to "Hawkeye Nation" .

Do most not use the new posts feature? To me, it is better than the front page. Even if every thread is listed.

I tend towards the front page, because I'm used to it.

I'd rather keep the in-state rivals on the front page. I wouldn't want to move too many things off of that page.

Just a thought and site suggestion. I would like to see the In-State Rivals forum moved off the most recent threads part of the front page (like it is for the Politics and Games forum). I have no problem with it being here, I just think it would benefit from a little less play. Much like the Games & Groups and the Politics/Religions forums I like to read it sometimes, but by their nature they get a lot of posts and are on the front page a lot. Also, I think we would get less flame posts if it wasn't on the front page. Just a suggestion. And if I opened this can of worms, I don't think the front page should be restricted to just Cyclone content but I think Games, Politics, and In-State Rivals are good things to not have on the front page. And I also know that you don't have to open threads if you don't like it or want to read it.

This sound like insecurity to me. If you do not want to read it.....don't. And that's from an Iowa State University fan and alumnus. Singling them out is silly and childish. I love the format of this board, including how the recent threads fo to the front page. It is what is popular and current.

Not sure where anyone was singled out or any group for that matter. My point is that much like the Politics forum threads often digress into a few people going back and forth on a topic. My main reason for the idea was that when I'm not at home I look and read off the front page and when threads are just going round and round with nothing popular or current I sometimes miss other threads due to a few being bumped a lot. But honestly its not a big deal just a suggestion to improve the site.
