I guess, if we aren't really faster, we might as well optically fool them into thinking we are, right? Honestly, I've never agreed with "looking faster" I don't remember what color shoes Maclin was wearing on his punt return for a TD, I think because he was running too fast for me to notice. You are either fast or you are not, it doesn't really matter what you look like.

That being said, I love these new unis except for the helmet. Don't get me wrong, I like the look, it's just that that helmet is what makes us look like we are copying USC. Put a yellow/gold helmet on the guys and we get our separation. I don't buy the idea the logo doesn't stand out. Personally, i have as much trouble figuring out what's on our helmets now as I did with the twisterchicken.

I do hope there is a day, soon, where wer aren't concerned about what our uniforms are going to look like next year. IT would be awesome if we are worried about weather or not we'll win 9, 10, 11 or 12 games, rather than if we'll lose that many.

Rhoades has ultimate say on uniforms with Reebok, Nike or whoever our sponsor currently is. HOWEVER, Iowa State rebranded every team with the new logo and darker red starting last year. The logo isn't going away. Could we have a gold helmet? I guess. But the logo isn't changing. As far as looking like USC. Well, I lived through the Criner years and every variation of crap since. My vote is to leave them as they are. Are we voting? No. Okay then never mind.

You know which logo I'd like? I forget the guy's name, but his avatar is the cardinal "I" with the white "ISU" running down the center of it, but it's done in that Cyclone font. On either a cardinal or gold helmet that would look pretty sweet.

I like the idea of changing the unis...I was a fan of this years but all things Chiz must go, and I also don't like the USC cracks. My only question is doesn't it get a bit expensive changing uniforms every year? I realize players aren't wearing the same uni over the years, but it just seems like between changing the logo and changing the unis that would get a bit pricey.

The color change wasn't a Chiz thing. It was school wide back to our true colors from way back

Tweak the helmets if necessary but DO NOT change the unis. Best looking threads we've had.

I love the jerseys and helmets, I prefer the White shoes IMO. I really like our helmets as well, but I wouldn't be angry with some tweaks to the helmet, but keep the jerseys and add names. Names are really cool, i think.

The whole USC comparison annoys me. USC has a classic, simple uniform design. If we wore green and purple, but had the same uniforms, no one would say boo. So we pick a classic (and classy) design for our uniforms, but we get criticized essentially for having the same colors as them.

I say, keep the unis and **** all the idiots that compare them to USC.

Having said that, I don't like the helmets. I think the logo is too small and there is too much empty red space on them. A stripe or a bigger logo would make me happy.

Or change the helmets to yellow. But of course we would look like Arizona State then. Fact is teams do use the same colors and there is only so much you can do with a 2 color combination. (except for Oregon)
