The governor has said hospitals can resume non emergency surgical procedures as long as they have enough PPE and lot of them are not even though that stuff is how they make money. And those that are bringing them back are doing so at a reduced capacity. So they don't seem to agree with you there.
Look there’s a difference between having PPE and having the stockpile. We should absolutely have more PPE than we do but we have enough for current times which is all I said. It’s the same with hand sanitizer for a product that regular people use. Is there a normal stockpile no. Can you obtain it yes.

Do you realize that as late as 01/15 the PRC and WHO were both tweeting the virus "wasn't person to person transmissible" ?
Yes, I certainly do! Did you carefully read my posts? What happened after the middle of January? We wasted well over month by doing nothing when the Intelligence people were issuing dire warnings as early as late January. Why is that so hard for some of you to admit or understand? Our leaders were saying there was NOTHING to worry about from late January through early March. This was nothing worse than the common flu.

I believe you are one of the persons who was basically ridiculing me about mid to late March (can't remember the exact date) I believe for stating that there would be 5,000 cases in IA for putting out such a high number by July due to inaction. As it turns out, I was very wrong. We will have 10,000 cases in a few days.

528 and 9 today. Continue to do well compared to Mn and Wi

That would be about 100 more in a daily cases than WI has had any time and last I saw IA has had about double % of positive cases vs. tested and they've had about the same amount of daily tests reported recently.

So travel bans from China don’t count as a response. That is unprecedented isn’t it?
It was NOT a ban but only a restriction. 40,000 people still came into the U.S. after the restriction. And what about Europe? That was not put into effect until a few weeks later I believe. Meanwhile, probably thousands of infected people were still coming into the U.S.

You posted that you didn't think PPE was hard to get. Now, like all your other posts, you are walking it back. Because nothing you post stands up to the tiniest bit of scrutiny.

So would you have been in favor of a ban that did not allow US citizens to return home ?

FWIW my wife talked to her boss who is an ER Dr. She believes the curve has flattened and believes non-essential staff (my wife) will be able to return to work soon. They will also allow clinicals to resume toe de the end of the month but of course KWoods dean won’t let them do it.

Good to see testing has finally increased a little. I think there were about 4,000 tests done with yesterdays stats, and 3,460 today with a 15.3% positive rate.

Is that new tests by day or the lab just getting caught up on processing? (Strictly a question, not judging). It will be interesting listening tomorrow to see if there is a follow up on if the lab is all caught up. Kim said they would be by the end of the weekend.

It's hard to tell on state and national levels how truly accurate anything is.

The other MAJOR problem is this: Were all these people given COVID-19 tests? Of course not.
Just providing masks would have been a huge improvement given how they packed everybody coming back into a few airports. I think that was a bigger issue coming back from Europe rather than China though.

I can say for sure that the "masks required" policy at Menards now is not so much a requirement as it is a loose recommendation that is in no way being enforced.

It's a podcast where they rewatch and review old movies, background/casting info on the movie, actors' careers since then, etc. Pretty entertaining.

Just yesterday they did Tommy Boy. I figured maybe you'd heard it and that quote was fresh in your mind.

Just finished this one. I loved the podcast but issue I have is that 75% of what that call rewatchable I call unwatchable.
