How Did Alabama Make the NCAA Tournament????

Seriously? I have no idea....

They were 19-15 overall, 8-10 in SEC to finish 9th. They lost to Kentucky in the SEC Tourney title game. They were also just 2-8 on the road and have no great non-conf. wins.

Anyone have any insight?

also had 3 bad losses
but 11 Q1 and Q2 wins is more than any at large teams seeded 7-11.

for comparison, Baylor was 4-12 and 2-1 with 1 bad loss.
Oklahoma state was 5-12 and 3-2 with no bad loss
USC was 4-5 and 5-5 with 1 bad loss
Louisville was 3-10 and 2-3 with no bad loss
Notre Dame was 2-9, 4-2 with 3 bad losses

I'm pretty sure their loss to Kentucky was in the semi-finals. They did beat #1 seed Auburn to get there, though.

I don't know much about them, aside from Sexton and the fact that they were some really piss poor defense by aTm away from being bounced in the first round of the SEC tournament. My rough draft bracket has them getting beat by VTech, but are they the kind of team that could make a run?

Conference record and overall record mean nothing with the current selection criteria. If you question why a team made it over _____ compare their Quadrant 1 and 2 wins; that's likely the answer.
