Fear. The fat cats want the status quo. Which means they want you to play by their rules since they control the power dynamic.

The fact he even commented on it shows it has had an impact on them or fear it might. So he needs to try to put lowly ISU in its place.

Someone asked Campbell about this in his presser. Talking about criticism for offering so many guys.
Campbell said something along the lines of, if anyone, coaches, parents, or players says that we are being dishonest with their kids or trying to mislead them, then there's a problem. They aren't trying to bamboozle kids with offers. They aren't pulling scholarships on signing day to get a higher rated recruit. They will fulfill these offers.

It's not like the SEC used to do all the time where they'd sign 30 guys on signing day and send the worst 5 packing or expect them to greyshirt.

I never understood this argument. Obviously you are going to offer more kids than scholarships available. Not everyone accepts the offer. Now if you are pulling scholarships after a kid has accepted, then I think it is a problem.

For Tom to call us out, he has to have some hatred for ISU.

He probably thinks that coaching under Rhoads held his career back, which is why he jumped ship to be the OC at tOSU. From all accounts he was a first class a-hole and there were documented arguments between he and Paul.

His comments really show he never had a clue how to coach at ISU. Does he know why Campbell offers so many kids??? Because over 90% turn him down. But you won't know until you try.

I know, it's such nonsense. It's hypocritical too...Texas offers more spots than are available just like we do. To say that when Texas offers they want you and only you is bullsh*t

Whether it be ten more offers than spots available or one hundred more it's the same thing.

Is poor Tom mad that this staff's offense looked a lot better than his did when he was in Ames? Texas shouldn't have to offer as many kids as ISU, they have so much cash, so many nice things, and such a better history than ISU.

Just another coach joining the TOE looking over their shoulder seeing ISU coming on fast.
This is the same guy that said it would be hard for CMC to win in Ames because of how hard it is to recruit there. Love it when our competition starts worrying about the Cyclones.

From strictly a visual comparison. Herman resembles C. Williams to me. But I would definitely rather have a beer with C Williams.
I actually had a beer with CW before I joined CF. He sat down at the table next to mine and I introduced myself and told him I was a lurker. We ended up talking for quite a while before he took out a restraining order on me.

True story...

Way up there
I don't mind a coach not liking how this staff recruits but to feed this info to someone to share on social media is totally childish. Did he comment on any other teams? The more he's been in the limelight, the more you can see he is less mature than a lot of his players. Not one reason to make his opinion public, other than to pout.
