I haven't posted anything about this story all day because I wanted to give it some to think about before I just reacted.
I have no idea what happened between Bill and Nikki so I don't think it's fair for me to comment one way or the other. This is a very serious allegation though, and Nikki better have her ducks in a row on this because this can be a tough thing to prove.
The thing that keeps sticking in my mind is how Nikki started a ton of games for Bill throughout her 4 year career at ISU, so it wasn't like he didn't play her because of his dislike for her. And as Seanna Johnson's mom has said, if she was treated so horribly, why wait until almost a year after you leave the school to do anything about it? That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but sure raises some questions IMO.
With all that being said, I think the only way that Bill survives this and keeps his job is if a large majority of girls that have played for him, both black and white, come forward and show their support for him. Anything short of that, and I think he's gone unfortunately.
Even if he's found to be innocent of these charges, if a large percentage of past players don't come out in support of him, then the damage will already have been done and it will completely handcuff his ability to recruit IMO. I wonder if, in that case, he could go back and file a lawsuit on her? If he's found completely innocent, but it ruins his career anyway, I would think he could go after her, right? Again... this is only assuming he's found innocent, which I have no idea if that's the case or not?
